Reporting to the Farm General Manager, the Cotton Area Manager holds a critical leadership position within the business and is responsible for all designated area cropping activities including detailed planning, input and production management, agronomy and reporting. Supported by a dedicated farm team of permanents plus casuals, the Cotton Area Manager will drive the culture, efficiency and profitability of the farm. This will require strong team leadership, great time management, logistics, communication and strong execution skills.

Role overview

• Ensure safe operations across the property through the implementation of our Safety Management System
• In collaboration with the other Cotton Area Managers and Farm General Manager, actively participate in the planning, preparing, and implementing annual cropping plans and budgets, covering various activities such as spraying, spreading, paddock preparation, planting, watering, fertilising, and harvest operations.
• Lead the Assistant Cotton Managers, and Farm Hands during paddock preparation, seeding, irrigation and harvest, including testing, recording and storage
• Work closely with the advisors and agronomist to develop agronomic understanding and practices on farm.
• Report on farm plans, production forecasts, operational progress of infield activities and inventory control.

Seven Spirit Bay is an iconic wilderness lodge located on the western side of Port Essington on the Cobourg Peninsula. It is only accessible by Outback Spirit boats or aircraft.

We are seeking a strong leader and motivated individual to manage our flagship lodge on a minimum 12 month contract.

This role will see you leading our team through the end of the 2024 touring and fishing seasons, carrying out maintenance in the off-season, and expertly leading your team through the entirety of the 2025 season.

The role will involve, but is not limited to:

• Managing team members, inspiring a passion for quality and professionalism
• Setting clear goals and expectations, ensuring team members are meeting targets and providing the team with regular feedback
• Lead and train the new and existing team members to ensure the standards and quality of work is consistent

• Actively working towards meeting the Net Promoter Scores (NPS)
• Supporting the continuous improvements of our lodge operations through proactive communications to the Operations Manager/General Manager

• Take an active role in recruitment, inductions, and team member training
• The off season duties will involve project management and liaising with various trades personnel

This is a live-in position in an extremely remote location. We provide flights to and from Seven Spirit Bay via Darwin and will ensure you have time-off and are able to go home while no tours are operating.

About You

We need support in the form of a Farm Office Manager on a Full-time Basis. The Farm Office Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting both the Farm General Manager and Corporate team by overseeing essential administrative functions to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.  For the right candidate, we are willing to consider hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days in the Farm Office and 2 days from home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain accurate and timely farm management records and data within various management systems, including but not limited to Timesheets (Deputy), Farm Records (AgWorld), Accounts Payable (SAPConcur), Grain Management System (AgriChain), Contractor Management System (Protech) and Safety Management System (Lucidity).
