At FinClear the Desktop Support Engineer key purpose is to collaborate with the greater infrastructure team to ensure our people are supported and able to leverage the relevant Hardware, Software Applications/ Systems and related Infrastructure to maximise their potential.

This role will see you work within a team of 14 that is part of a larger cross functional technology team of 60 and growing. Support across BAU and projects are two key areas of this position where you will initially add value supporting our people.

Your efforts will also help free up seniors to stand up other exciting projects that not only will fuel us for future success but also offer you exposure in other areas of infrastructure. This opportunity is ideal for someone skilled that enjoys supporting a Windows environment but wants to broaden their exposure to other parts of the world of infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Being the focal point offering support and providing an amazing experience to our people
• Provide onsite and remote support
• Understanding issues and troubleshooting
• Oversee the IT-related on & off-boarding of staff along with the preparation & maintenance of required hardware and application configuration
• Create & manage user/device accounts
• Provide technical support & rectification of technical issues
• Assist with the support and management of landline, internet & mobile telecommunications   
• Ensure the performance of local area network (LAN) applications, Wi-Fi network & IT infrastructure are optimised across all sites
• Ensure secure IT systems and infrastructure across all platforms and assets
• Maintain accurate ICT documentation & inventory database
• Provide support for meeting rooms with AV equipment
• Work closely with all teams to enhance processes & implement new technologies
• Provide advice and assistance relating to the Standard Operating Environment for end user computing devices systems
• Install equipment & test software applications as required
• Support the roll-out of new applications and solutions

About the Role

The Cybersecurity Engineer, will be a member of our Group Technology Cybersecurity team located in any Datacom office.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Cybersecurity sector and is looking to build a career in this space. You will have a solid understanding of networks, firewalls, proxies, SIEM, Endpoint controls, DLP concepts and technologies.

You will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a Cybersecurity related role and ideally have exposure to security technologies such as Crowdstrike, Azure, Sentinel, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet etc.

It is vital you have a solid understanding of ITIL and experience troubleshooting and resolving application and network problems. Exposure to Security Orchestration and Automation, Threat Intelligence or Threat Hunting are highly regarded.

This role can be based out of any Datacom office in Australia. Australian Citizenship is essential for Federal Government security clearance requirements.

What you’ll do

The core objectives and responsibilities of a Platforms and Operations Cybersecurity Engineer includes the responsibility for maintaining a system or specific components of a system.

This includes:

• Configuring and updating hardware and software
• Establishing and managing user accounts
• Overseeing or conducting backup and recovery tasks
• Implementing operational and technical security controls
• Adhering to organisational security policies and procedures.
• Monitor and analyze various open-source and proprietary threat intelligence feeds to identify emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct extensive research and analysis of threat actors, their TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures), and motives.
• Lead and coordinate incident response efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to contain and mitigate the impact of security breaches.

• Skills in Sentinel are highly desirable and preference for these
• Knowledge of measures or indicators of system performance and availability.
• Familiarity with common threat intelligence frameworks and standards (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, STIX/TAXII).
• Familiarity and exposure to working on Intelligence platform will be highly regarded

In your role as Senior Software Engineer you'll play a key role in building an exciting greenfield project to deliver our digital audio strategy while also helping maintain and evolve our existing set of applications. 

You’ll be crafting world-class high performance mobile and web applications & interfaces while actively working to build your skills in React Native.

This role suits someone who is interested in working across both web and mobile, with a primary focus on mobile development using React Native. You should be willing to deep dive into other areas including Swift and Kotlin (within the context of a React Native app).

The 9Now Web team is a primarily front-end agile software and streaming development team building the "Future of Television". Our core responsibility is building, testing, securing and maintaining 9now.com.au. We're at the forefront of 9Now’s strategy, creating a responsive, performant, accessible user experience for viewing 9Now content in mobile, tablet and desktop browsers.

You’ll be working alongside both Senior and Associate Engineers within the team, and closely with Product and Quality in the broader Streaming team.

We’re looking for people who are based in Sydney, and would be able to come into the office.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams to plan, design, develop and test solutions.

• Work across our web-based tech stack (Typescript and JavaScript), particularly utilising React (including Next.js, Styled Components, Jotai state management, Jest, Testing Library React and Playwright), hosted in Docker on AWS infrastructure.

• Develop our streaming video stack and its accompanying analytics and observability.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• You lead the commissioning activities of the boiler and combustion elements for HZI and ensure works are executed in accordance with contract requirements, and conform with the approved drawings and standards, project time and budget
• You supervise and check the commissioning works being performed by the contractor in respect of timescales, HSEQ and compliance with the approved drawings and standards
• You lead by example regarding HSEQ;  actively encouraging and leading the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
• You are responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under your supervision, eliminating / mitigating hazards, stopping works where HSE instructions might be compromised
• You liaise and coordinate with all relevant stakeholders (project team members, commissioning manager, erection supervisors, HSE, commercial counterparts, engineering, sub-contractors, suppliers etc.)
• You ensure sub-contractors are co-ordinated with other site works, material and all other requirements are in place in order for them to efficiently perform required tasks.
• You complete required tests on site as required by the functional description of the plant and or equipment
• Interface with 3rd parties and external bodies as necessary
