Advancing careers. Advancing everyday life. Newlands Coal is looking for a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering & Maintenance Team. Operating as an Open Cut Mine until February 2023, we have now finished coal production and are progressing ahead to new and exciting times. We strive to be industry leaders as we transition to be Queensland’s largest rehabilitation project. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be a results-oriented person with excellent communication skills who will eagerly accept the many challenges associated with this role. In this role you will be responsible for: Ensuring the site operates in accordance with both internal and external regulations, Australian standard and guidelines for Electrical and Operational Technology Infrastructure Promote and manage continuous improvements, projects, problem solving and maintenance of the following: High Voltage Infrastructure Low Voltage Infrastructure for remote mine site building and main building infrastructure 2 x Draglines (Bucyrus 1370w & Marion 8750) Site-Wired and wireless data within Operational Technology Network (OT) Two-way radio systems Image communication networks and equipment OT Server Management Fleet Management system Contribute to the compliance of relevant electrical safety and electrical engineering standards across the site, and ensure that maintenance engineering management plans are current and relevant Provide input for major projects and the development of associated technical specifications Requirements for the role include: Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering Previous experience in a similar role in mining or similar heavy industry Strong focus on innovation, to ensure enhancements to procedures and processes that achieve improvements in performance, safety, job satisfaction and productivity What we offer: Highly competitive remuneration package including annual performance bonus and 13% Superannuation Option for Compressed Nine Day Fortnight work pattern Subsidised accommodation in Glenden 5 weeks annual leave per year and access to Coal Mining Industry Long Service Leave Employee Education Assistance program to support continued professional development Our local township of Glenden is located approximately one and three quarter hours from Mackay and only three hours from the beautiful Whitsundays.
