• Sort and identify samples on receipt, and complete and record all required sample receipt checks, including sub-sampling, labelling, storing and/or timely repacking of samples for dispatch as necessary.
• As required, drive to client sites to pick up samples, and/or carry out sampling according to approved procedures. Accurately complete sampling and site records
• Perform other duties as directed by the Project Manager.

About the role

We are seeking an MED 2 or MED 3-qualified Engineer with aspirations to become a Vessel Master, to join us in a permanent position. Initially joining in a part-time capacity, we will support this individual to complete their Master <24m qualification throughout the 2024 year, to set you up for a full-time, permanent Vessel Master position with Darwin Harbour Cruises.

Reporting to the Vessel Master, this position assists in the maintenance and upkeep of the Charles Darwin vessel, including:

• Performing routine vessel maintenance and repairs to ensure continuous and reliable operation
• Conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and diagnosing any problems that may arise in vessel mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Assisting in major repairs and overhauls, collaborating with contractors and suppliers as necessary
• Playing an active role in implementing preventative maintenance programs to maximise vessel performance and minimise downtime
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities through a digital asset management system, including logs, reports and documentation of all work performed
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards and procedures governing marine maintenance and safety, in addition to adherence with Company SOPs and operational procedures
• Working as part of a team, the Engineer also supports with hospitality duties to support the front of house team where required.

We have immediate opportunities available for casual Cruise Attendants / Waiters to join our team for the season which operates from mid-February to mid-December. This position works on a rotating roster with most shifts from 4:00pm - 9:00pm, however this can vary depending on what we have booked for the week. Previous food and beverage or fine dining experience is preferred, however if you can demonstrate an exceptional customer service approach, strong communication skills, a positive "can-do" attitude and are comfortable working on water, that's what really matters.

To be successful, you must hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, and have the necessary working entitlements to work in Australia, with a minimum 6-month commitment. The Role

We are currently seeking a Head Chef to join us for the 2024 season for each of the following locations:

Murwangi Safari Camp

Our Head Chefs create amazing experiences by creating and delivering exceptional meals for our guests and staff members.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the daily running of all the kitchen requirements
• Meet and where possible exceed guest expectations
• Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are established and monitored to meet Food Safety guidelines and are maintained at that level
• Work with the kitchen team and take corrective action where appropriate and within company guidelines if standards are not met
• Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained by all staff members to meet Health & Safety regulations and relative legislation
• Cultivate a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven

About You

• Minimum 3-5 years as a Head Chef
• Advanced culinary knowledge and extensive cooking experience
• Demonstrate excellent and respectful communication skills
• Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
• Able to cater for dietaries without compromising on taste
• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
• Must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

We are looking for an experienced, professional and enthusiastic Duty manager to lead the team at Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel. 

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the development and training of Guest Service Agents;
• Ensure that all daily tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner;
• Conducting guest arrivals and departures;
• Confidently providing personalised, attentive guest service, including pre-empting the guest's requirements;
• Imparting your knowledge and recommendations about the hotel, its facilities and the local area including restaurants and attractions;
• Ensuring guest queries and complaints are handled efficiently and effectively;
• Maintaining accurate guest accounts, adhering to strict confidentiality policies and procedures;
• Finalizing guest accounts, including cash handling;
• Assisting in general administration duties in the Front Office department and general duties across the Housekeeping & Maintenance departments as required

Expected hours: 38 hours per week

Annual salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 (excluding superannuation)
