Due to our expanding OHS team delivering to a large client, an opportunity for a Safety Project Manager has become available in Melbourne. The Safety Project Manager will manage a small team of administrators and oversee a number medium to large Health, Safety and Wellbeing projects for our largest client across the Victorian region.
Responsibilities:
- Building trust with our largest client, and a collaborative partnership with all stakeholders
- Develop and support implementation of OHS and risk management solutions to clients
- Provide project management and SME coordination
- Lead internal process improvement initiatives and processes; and provide leadership and coaching to the team, including direct and non-direct reports
- Drive process improvement for project operational efficiencies
Day-to-day this might include:
- Working closely with OHS Consultants to develop and deliver client projects
- Working with other leaders across the team to achieve project outcomes and milestones
- Delivering strategic and operational projects to meet client’s safety and risk management needs
- Maintaining our relationship with our largest client, including operational and strategy meetings, and project management
- Provide clients with strategic and operational solutions to their safety compliance, and risk management needs;
- Lead and manage client projects through preparing accurate and tailored project scopes
- Effective resource management for client projects
- Delivering on client projects, either independently or coordinating a team of SMEs
- Ensuring project are well scoped, deadlines are met and work is of an excellent quality
- Establishing effective internal and external relationships to ensure successful project management
- Administration and end of month time management reporting and invoicing
- Travel to client sites across Victoria

What you need to have:
Crucial to your success in this role is the ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, influence and build credible relationships at all levels, both internally and with external stakeholders. Strong project and planning skills, the ability to work at high levels of initiative and to strict deadlines are essential in this role.
- Strong Safety experience, preferably in the public or education sectors
- Demonstrable project management experience, preferably in safety
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities with varying deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and client management skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in WHS, and/or related disciplines would be highly regarded
