Technical Partners Health (TPH) scaffolds the provision of technical support crossing the whole of Griffith Health, spanning three streams (Technologies Operations and Logistics; Laboratory and Preclinical Experience; Simulation and Practical Experience). TPH includes more than 50 Technical specialists, working collaboratively to support various Health Schools, Clinics, Research and, Learning and Teaching within purpose-designed facilities across multiple campuses.
To ensure we achieve our vision, an exciting opportunity exists within our Technical Partners Health team to lead the Technologies, Operations and Logistics team.
The Technical Manager Technologies, Operations and Logistics (TOL) is a leadership position within Griffith Health that will work under broad direction of the Senior Technical Manager- Technical Partners Health, to lead multi-disciplinary specialist technical teams.
The successful candidate will facilitate the provision of transformative operational, technology and logistics support across the Health Group and play a key role modelling inculcating a culture of respect, collaboration, integrity, inclusion and high performance across the TOL team. This role is responsible for proactively consulting and partnering with colleagues across university academic and administrative elements, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders to achieve key accountabilities.
As the Technical Manager, Technologies, Operations and Logistics (TOL), you will play a pivotal role which will include but not limited to:
- Working collaboratively with other Technical Managers to develop guidelines and manage procedures related to the implementation of technical best practice.
- Develop and maintain systems, and quality practices for the effective and efficient management of technical support that will enhance the technical support offered to academic staff and students.
- Lead teams of multi-disciplinary technical staff including subject matter experts and operational specialists, to ensure effective, efficient and partnership focused support and knowledge transfer in a high performing team.
- Prepare briefings, information, and high-quality planning papers and represent the Group on relevant Group or University projects.
- Support an accountable, fair, and safe working environment through the implementation of Griffith management practices and policies, to sustain a highly engaged, positive and effective workplace culture

You will:
- Have a relevant tertiary qualifications at least postgraduate level or higher majoring in biomedical and/or biomolecular health sciences with considerable relevant work experience in the management of significant human and material resources.
- Have exceptional communication and interpersonal stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills and at ease working and leading in a digital environment.
- Be solution focused with excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Have proven ability to successfully collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SME's) and key knowledge holders, investigating current practices to identify optimisation opportunities for improvement and successful implementation.
- Be a self-starter and have a very high level of professional competence, thrive working autonomously, delivering on key milestones and targets, being self-motivated to drive success.
- Value teamwork and have demonstrated success effectively leading and coaching multidisciplinary teams and SMEs.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework pertaining to high hazard laboratory environments.
- Experience leading a team and promoting principles of respect, high performance, inclusion, collaboration, and integrity in the work place.

This is a continuing, full time position and is primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 9 range $123,186 - $127,591 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $144,127 - $149,281 per annum.
