ARIAM Hub is a collaboration between leading academic researchers and experts from the Australian robotics industry supported by the Australian Research Council to deliver research excellence in robotics for asset management. We are expanding our team and have multiple positions opening as part of ARIAM. We are currently seeking an ambitious and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake fundamental and applied research in novel computer vision approaches to high-fidelity drone-based 3D reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure. As part of the Australian Robotic Inspection and Management Research Hub (ARIAM), this position involves working closely with Hub Industry Partner Trendspek on their precision asset modelling and intelligence technology. As part of the research hub you will have opportunities to travel and collaborate with our partners across Australia.

Our current research will focus on combining novel scene representations and computational imaging approaches to enable greater performance in modelling visually challenging scenes from drone-based imagery. Depending on interest and ability there is also scope to develop novel imaging technologies to further improve performance.

This robotic vision-focused position will advance the 3D reconstruction technology required for modelling complex 3D infrastructure. Key challenges include complex appearance due to reflective and transparent surfaces, complex geometries, and dense occlusion from vegetation.

Depending on ability and interest, candidate approaches can include combining representations and visual processing from the graphics and vision communities, including inverse rendering and novel visual and geometric representations, and novel computational imaging devices and algorithms. This project will offer dramatic improvements in sensing robustness and performance, and geometric and textural accuracy in drone-based 3D asset inspection.

In this role you will:

We have a range of promising drugs lined up for in vivo testing, and a very real possibility that if these drugs continue to perform well in our experiments, accelerate clinical translation. It will also involve assisting in the molecular and functional studies of sarcoma cell lines and sarcoma samples, including examining the consequences of mutations/fusions, developing functional genomic screens, test drug responses, examine (phospho)protein signal transduction pathways, and identifying potential drug targeting strategies. As our Research Assistant your purpose will be to: Set-up and work with sarcoma patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models. This will involve the subcutaneous engraftment of PDXs, monitoring, and treating via oral gavage or IP. In this position, you will play an important role into generating the best laboratory evidence to ultimately drive clinical translation of results for one of the most difficult-to-treat types of childhood cancer, called sarcoma. The position will include work on in vivo sarcoma patient-derived xenograft models, including tumour implantation, in vivo therapy experiments, post-treatment tumour analysis (eg immunohistochemistry, western blot), and survival/growth analysis. We have a range of promising drugs lined up for in vivo testing, and a very real possibility that if these drugs continue to perform well in our experiments, accelerate clinical translation. It will also involve assisting in the molecular and functional studies of sarcoma cell lines and sarcoma samples, including examining the consequences of mutations/fusions, developing functional genomic screens, test drug responses, examine (phospho)protein signal transduction pathways, and identifying potential drug targeting strategies.
As our Research Assistant your purpose will be to:

Set-up and work with sarcoma patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models. This will involve the subcutaneous engraftment of PDXs, monitoring, and treating via oral gavage or IP.
Assist with the development and maintenance of primary sarcoma cell lines
Assist with drug screens and molecular work in the sarcoma cell line models
Assist with general laboratory management including contributing to ordering supplies, maintaining laboratory inventory
Achieve an outstanding level of competence in all aspects of experimental work 
Contribute to quality publications
Be involved in professional activities
Collate, organise and present experimental results
Be compliant with OH&S requirements for handling of human samples and according to Institute policies
Abide by privacy legislation, ethics guidelines and the legal requirements for research involving human material

 To succeed you will have…

Experience with in vivo mouse models/techniques is highly desirable but not essential, as training can be provided. Handling/restraint, oral gavage, and experience with subcutaneous engraftments is a big plus.
Practical experience in the conduct of molecular biology techniques (such as Western Blot, RT PCR, transfection and FACS) and cell culture techniques
Demonstrated experience in data analyses using Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism for basic statistical analysis
Commitment to conducting experiments involving humans, animals & GMOs under strict ethical and regulatory guidelines

Responsibilities of the role:

As a Digital Manager, you’ll be working towards:

• Ability to take client briefs and translate into a detailed digital media plan.
• Works closely with Client Lead in understanding comms goals and help deliver those in a campaign.
• Understands the role of channel and competence in planning all digital channels.

• Consult with publishers to ensure campaigns are delivered in the best possible way for the client
• Aligns Digital and traditional activity to allow for complete integration
• Work with publishers on implementing new Beta tests
• Provide reporting insights for clients into performance drivers
• Ensures attention to detail for all tasks and accepts accountability for any errors that occur
• Responsible for meeting and exceeding all client needs from a Digital perspective (and beyond, whenever possible)
• Ensure clients remain up to speed with the changing Digital landscape and opportunities that the channel presents.
• Develop excellent client relationships to ensure clients are comfortable about all recommendations
• Consult with Communications Managers and Digital Managers to ensure Digital concepts are aligned with overall campaign
