About the Team As part of Policy, Advice and Research Division, the Research and Evaluation Branch is responsible for ensuring that NDIA policies, practices and priorities are informed by trustworthy and robust evidence. The branch aims to improve evidence-based decision making within the NDIA and finds solutions to high priority issues, shaping disability research to maximise its impact for the NDIS. The branch is accountable for collating and conducting research, evidence, best practice and lived experiences for decision-making. This includes evaluating key NDIA programs and initiatives, ensuring staff are able to find, generate and utilise evidence for decision-making and translating our knowledge of research to our customers and stakeholders. About the Role The EL1 Assistant Director, Research for Specialist Reform Programs (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes within the Research and Evaluation functions of the NDIA. The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the Research and Evaluation functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support. The EL1 Assistant Director, Research for Specialist Reform Programs (Labour Hire) will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”.
