D&T Hydraulics is a local family owned cylinder repair & manufacturing business. The company employs over 100 highly skilled employees from Boilermakers, Welders, Fitters, Machinists, Draftspeople and TA's. This dedicated workforce is supported by technical, sales and support staff guaranteeing projects and the workforce is managed in a professional manner without compromising, quality, safety or the environment. We require a motivated & experienced Metal Machinist (First Class) to join our expanding facility. The position entails rotating night shift, 4 weeks dayshift, 2 weeks nightshift. Attractive penalty rates apply to the nightshift rotation.
We are highly reputable and boast a modern workshop with excellent working and pay conditions.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Be an experienced, trade qualified Fitter & Turner, preferably with experience in repair of hydraulic cylinders and components - Machining or - tell us where your strengths are;
Have your own hand tools;
Be capable of using measuring equipment;
Be highly motivated;
Have a good work ethic:
Be reliable, punctual and hardworking;
Be able to work unsupervised and also follow directions provided by Supervisors;
Have a strong attention to detail;
Be able to work in a team environment;
Be flexible and able to work different shifts when required (some night shift);
Have drivers licence and own transport;
Be a team player; and
Be committed to safety & quality policies and procedures.
Preferable:-
Rigging and Dogging Ticket
Forklift licence
