Scheduled Servicing: Following maintenance schedules provided by manufacturers and scheduling routine servicing activities to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.

Must Haves:

Bachelor of Engineering degree-or equivalent.
10 Years + Trade (with post-trade development) or engineering background with experience in Surface Mobile Maintenance.
Proficiency in CMMS Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (SAP or Pronto) and frontline leadership training.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships, with a passion for team growth and development.
Ability to work autonomously and manage conflicting priorities.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a mining engineer to join our team at Blair Athol. The mining engineer is accountable for providing technical support such as designs, short term planning, scheduling, and monitoring of mining performance of our excavator, dragline and dozer push fleet.

Responsibilities of the Role:

1. Ensure that all excavation and dump plans / designs conform to Blair Athol’s Health and Safety Management System.
2. Provide inputs such as designs and volumes into the mine planning and scheduling process.
3. Ensure safe, efficient, and productive plans are developed in a timely manner through the liaison with supervisors, superintendents, and other engineers in the planning process well before plans are due.
4. Ensure production budget is met by effective planning, scheduling and coordination of activities relating to the mining fleet.
5. Maintain and communicate short terms plans and activities to managers, superintendents, and other relevant mine site personnel.
6. Ensure mining fleet is productive and working safely by conducting tours through the circuits with relevant supervisors/superintendents, monitoring conditions and altering plans/schedules as required.
7. Ensure waste dumps consider rehabilitation requirements during the design stage, ensuring effective controls are in place.
8. Ensure effective controls are in place so dig/dump designs are followed, by working with the surveyor and ensuring GPS plans are available for diggers & dozers

Orica Kooragang Island’s manufacturing complex is comprised of an Ammonia plant, three nitric acid plants, and two ammonium nitrate plants. The site has significant dispatch operations, capable of providing bagged, containerized, or bulk products for distribution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving work strategies for all assets within their responsible discipline across the Manufacturing Centre that ensures and improves the availability of the Production Cell(s) of the Manufacturing Centre’s Product Line(s) to achieve their objectives across. Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

To deliver these responsibilities, the Mechanical Engineer shall work collaboratively across all Manufacturing Centre departments and across the areas of Work Strategies Management, Defect Elimination, Master Data Management, Conditions Monitoring, and Performance Management.

What you will be doing

More specifically, the Mechanical Engineer will deliver the following within their responsible discipline:
 
. Support and execute all initiatives associated with the improvement and maintenance of site assets through the SAP CMMS.
. Manage all relevant changes to Manufacturing Centre maintenance strategies and master data through a defined Maintenance of Change process and ensure master data meets Orica’s master data standard. 
. Promote understanding and use of reliability tools (e.g. Weibull, FMECA, and RBM) across equipment and plants, as well as work management processes within the defect elimination process, to identify and implement reliability improvements.
. Deliver day-to-day technical support to the Product Line and other departments to ensure Product Line continuity.
. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reliability with operators, maintainers, and engineering peers.

The Mechanical Engineer is required to carefully balance the competing priorities of day-to-day support for the product lines and the proactive efforts of plant reliability improvements to ensure both immediate production objectives and medium- to long-term improvement objectives are achieved.

What you will bring:

 . Role ideally suited to individuals with a minimum experience of 3 years in the petrochemical or chemical manufacturing industry with considerable change management and safety components.

Key Accountabilities

? Manage the plant instrument systems, including hardware, software, and communication systems.
? Develop and implement electrical systems and make adjustments or improvements to electrical systems/instruments and control equipment/system.
? Prepare, review and analyze technical documents, schematics and drawings of electrical systems, equipment and instruments.
? Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all instruments.
? Carry out modifications to instrument hardware, programs and software.
? Carry out any design as required to suit plant operating modifications or projects.

Job posting end date: 03/01/2024   Job description JOB TITLE                          Hydraulic Engineer BUSINESS UNIT                 SVS GBP Project Engineering REPORTS TO                      Engineering Manager, SVS GBP Engineering York LOCATION                          Various: York, USA – Sorocaba, Brazil – Perth, Australia The Hydraulic Engineer position will be part of the Global Product Engineering Expert Functions team and provide Hydraulic engineering and technical support to the Metso:Outotec Services group for the Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro (GBP) business unit. The Hydraulic Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical support of the entire line of GBP equipment, analyzing and validating the development of innovative solutions and improvement of existing solutions. The position requires general knowledge of mechanical design, hydraulic design, electrical design, manufacturing processes, component selection and instrumentation of hydraulic systems. It requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work on several projects simultaneously and present a positive, cooperative demeanor with customers and co-workers. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare hydraulic and mechanical drawings to facilitate fabrication, construction, and installation for equipment or services to refurbish, upgrade, or retrofit existing equipment. Applying hydraulic and mechanical engineering knowledge, principles and best practices to meet customer requirements and specifications. Prepares design ideas and solutions for hydraulic equipment; performs engineering calculations in a timely manner. Reviews drawings, diagrams and bill of materials for accuracy. Perform calculations to ensure safe function of equipment.  Provides local and global expertise and support in GBP. This includes design, fabrication, quality assurance, sourcing and troubleshooting. Visit customer offices and plants to determine physical restrictions or limitations.  Apply hydraulic and mechanical engineering knowledge, principles, and best practices to meet customer requirements and specifications.  Show a commitment to quality, ethics, and safety.  Show a commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.  Observe safety regulations and exhibit a concern for safety.  Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.  Resolves Non-conformance and manufacturing deviation issues. Investigates hydraulic problems and proposes corrective actions and/or repair procedures. Provides technical support to field service representatives.  When appropriate, makes recommendations to improve field methods and efficiency. • Leads and coordinates cross-regional teams and internal personnel to effectively infiltrate key accounts, aggressively expanding and nurturing relationships.

• Engages with the applications team and sophisticated clients on intricate applications to translate precise customer requirements into tailored product designs.

• Offers support for complex applications, collaborates with the marketing team on quotes and technical inquiries, and frequently accompanies business leaders to significant customer meetings.

• Collaborates closely with the Business Development Manager to support various business functions such as sales forecasting, cultivating a robust business pipeline, updating customer relations management (CRM), and other essential activities as needed.

• Develops and manages an active opportunity pipeline for all assigned accounts, collecting comprehensive information about accounts, identifying key decision-makers, comprehending strategic business challenges, and leading the team in analyzing and prioritizing opportunities critical to these accounts.

• Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and exceed customer expectations.

• Ensures professional coordination and meticulous account planning while swiftly resolving any potential account ownership issues.

• Provides continual support to customers, ensuring they receive top-notch, high-quality customer service and may also assist in providing quotes.

• Monitors industry trends and evolving regulations to maintain competitiveness and compliance, providing technical and commercial support to both internal and external sales teams.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or suitable combination of education and experience.

2. 10 plus years’ experience in core field construction / equipment selection experience required.

3. Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences.

4. Ability to apply engineering, technology, or other related principles to product sales.

5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

7. Team player that’s reliable and enjoys working in a high-performance team culture.

8. Basic knowledge in any of the technical 3D software like Autodesk Inventor / PRO-E/ Catia / Solid works. Ability to read and interpret drawings.

9. Experience of managing major national accounts at head office level.
