Due to rapid company growth, this Engineering/Fabrication company in the heart of Albury are seeking a Project Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for your projects that you are assigned, to ensure that your projects are completed on-time and within their budget (or better).
You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of your project, including arranging the drawings, steel, freight, surface covering (galvanising / paint) and liaising with our clients.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinating drawings, steel delivery, freight, and surface covering for your projects.
Coordinate fabrication of jobs with workshop team.
Negotiations with suppliers and customers.
Identify variations and reporting requirements.
General office administration.

Required skills:
Previous experience in project coordination/ Project engineer.
Steel industry experience essential.
An engineering qualification and / or a metal trade background essential.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word & Excel
A current driver’s license.

About the opportunity

ARIAM Hub is a collaboration between leading academic researchers and experts from the Australian robotics industry supported by the Australian Research Council to deliver research excellence in robotics for asset management. ARIAM spans 3 renowned Australian universities: The University of Sydney, QUT and ANU. This position will be supervised by Dr Donald Dansereau, head of the Robotic Imaging Lab within the Australian Centre for Robotics (ACFR) at the University of Sydney. The ACFR is one of Australia’s leading robotics research groups, and the Robotic Imaging Lab is focused on endowing machines with new ways of seeing the world.

We are expanding our team and have multiple positions opening as part of ARIAM. We are currently seeking an ambitious and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake fundamental and applied research in novel computer vision approaches to high-fidelity drone-based 3D reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure. As part of the Australian Robotic Inspection and Management Research Hub (ARIAM), this position involves working closely with Hub Industry Partner Trendspek on their precision asset modelling and intelligence technology. As part of the research hub you will have opportunities to travel and collaborate with our partners across Australia.

Our current research will focus on combining novel scene representations and computational imaging approaches to enable greater performance in modelling visually challenging scenes from drone-based imagery. Depending on interest and ability there is also scope to develop novel imaging technologies to further improve performance.

This robotic vision-focused position will advance the 3D reconstruction technology required for modelling complex 3D infrastructure. Key challenges include complex appearance due to reflective and transparent surfaces, complex geometries, and dense occlusion from vegetation.

Depending on ability and interest, candidate approaches can include combining representations and visual processing from the graphics and vision communities, including inverse rendering and novel visual and geometric representations, and novel computational imaging devices and algorithms. This project will offer dramatic improvements in sensing robustness and performance, and geometric and textural accuracy in drone-based 3D asset inspection.

In this role you will:

? work closely with a team of project academics, engineers, and PhD students
? develop and characterise novel robotic vision representations, algorithms and/or imaging technologies
? contribute to the ARIAM Hub’s demonstrator program that will showcase your research and that of other Hub projects
? contribute as a researcher to project report preparation, presentation at internal workshops, and dissemination at top international conferences and journals as well as via internal workshops and presentations.

The position We are seeking an Electronics Technician to be part of the support team for ASKAP Operations. You will work under broad supervision and guidance to provide technical support of complex digital, analogue and radio frequency electronics systems, including PAF receivers, signal processing, control, monitoring, and timing systems. The role includes participating in planning for systems maintenance activities and fault diagnosis. You will be part of our engineering team located on our Geraldton site, but working at times within the broader telescope technical team to maintain operational support. Please note: Frequent travel to the Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, CSIRO’s Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory (approx. 350km northeast of Geraldton) will be required. Livestock production contributes to the latter via practices like using pasture phases to build soil C. However, there are also emissions from grazing animals that need to be considered in the whole farm GHG balance. The CERC Fellow will apply systems modelling and methodologies to compute the GHG emissions and soil C sequestration from both cropping systems and grazed pastures, under different management and climate scenarios. Importantly, the work will expand previous limited case studies to broader scales, potentially nationally. The objective of this work is to understand the implications of crop and livestock integration across Australia’s broadacre farming regions and under what circumstances are the greatest GHG mitigation and food production intensity can be provided.   The CERC Fellow will bring together biophysical simulation modelling with life-cycle accounting methods to compute GHG emissions from the different crop and livestock production systems. As an integral member of the maintenance team, the Shift Maintenance Fitter will make a strong contribution to a high performing Operations team and team culture within our Moorebank manufacturing plant. You will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance, to achieve acceptable production levels and a high standard in engineering support.
