RETAINED SEARCH Founded in 2003 our client is a prominent civil construction company in Bunbury & the Southwest of Western Australia. Specialising in Civil Engineering and Construction, our client focuses on quality, ensuring excellence in project completion and is recognised for delivering impeccable services and products and providing innovative solutions in land development, industrial, commercial, and mining sectors in the Southwest of Western Australia. They are now seeking an experienced Drainer/Pipe Layer leading Hand to work with their civil construction team in Bunbury & the Southwest. The Opportunity As the Drainer/Pipe Layer Leading Hand, you will be involved in the construction, installation, testing and commissioning of underground pipelines, connections and associated structures in accordance with best practice standards including stormwater drainage, sewerage, pressure mains and water all laid to grade. You will set out and coordinate drainage works including providing guidance, assistance and training to the team members. As you progress in your career there is an opportunity to train up into leadership within the company. About You To be successful in this role you will require Be available to work in Bunbury & the Southwest region Minimum of 3 years experience as a drainer or pipelayer Team supervision/leadership experience Demonstrated knowledge of all pipe laying and water main installation activities Competent and knowledge in reading and interpretation of plans and materials technology Experience in dewatering management, shoring, backfilling & compaction Demonstrated ability to follow work practices, policies, procedures, instructions and guidelines. Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule tasks to ensure they are performed efficiently. Sound knowledge and civil construction and maintenance methods. Experience on Water Corporation standards/projects desirable Current clean WA HR or MR licence (HR is desirable) White Card Excavator/Skid Steer tickets and experience PVC Pipe-laying accreditation (preferred but not essential) Please note: ***To be considered for this position you must have current work rights in Australia (i.e. Australian citizenship, permanent residency or eligible working visa)*** What’s on offer Joining our client offers secure employment in a good working environment and the opportunity to work with a professional team in the Bunbury & Southwest region.
