Our business is ideally situated to take advantage of the growing local community. We are looking to continue to grow and expand our services but to do that we need to continue to develop and train automotive technicians.
We are ideally positioned to be able to offer a full suite of experience to an up and coming apprentice. This is because Russell is uniquely qualified as both a Motor Mechanic and an Auto Electrician. In addition he is licensed by the Australian Refrigeration Council to do air conditioning repair and service work. This means that our business can do almost any service and repair work on any make and model of motor vehicle.
Denmor Automotive is an excellent place to train because we do mechanical, auto-electrical and air conditioning work on most makes and models and cars. Therefore an apprenticeship with us will enable you to learn and work on a very wide range of skills rather than only working on the same make of car at a more specialised workshop.

About the role:

Our finishing department is on the hunt for an energised and motivated person to join the team on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for providing efficient and effective support of its cutting, automated inspection and automated packaging equipment. In addition, this position is responsible for providing NPA with high-level expertise to ensure its equipment operates in accordance with manufacturer’s expectations/and or business objectives.

The key responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:

Work with finishing staff to ensure customer deliveries are met on time in full and at the required quality.
Take an active role by work with finishing staff to maximise machine productivity, utilisation and availability.
Provide feedback, reports and emails on production performance, spoilage and any issues relating to relevant shift.
Provide feedback on the quality of product to other functions and departments
Take an active role in the promotion of a safe working environment and, ensure that Work, Health & Safety (WHS), security and quality procedures are adhered to.
Identify and implement equipment modifications that can improve safety, manual handling, security or productivity.
Work closely with the other process system specialists to plan and complete maintenance and breakdown activities in a timely and professional manner
Take an active role within the AIG to ensure that reports required by AIG customers are produced on time in an accurate and user-friendly manner.
Work with QA and Operations to define and document the process for model creation and modification across all inspection systems.
Take an active role in spoilage reduction initiatives within the finishing area.
Contribute to cost reduction initiatives
Provide training to production staff.
Provide feedback to production staff
Participate in discussions regarding all work related policies, projects and tasks.
Ensure sound and effective working relationships between Finishing and all other NPA departments.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of banknote manufacturing, by introducing and managing new process and projects
Ensure a safe working environment through strong risk management and promoting safe working practices
Report all hazards, incidents and near misses immediately
Act with a high degree of security awareness
Other duties as required by the company.

About you:

Completion of a formal apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical/electronic fields will be highly regarded but not essential.
Computer literacy with spread sheets, project scheduling and word processing.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
Prior quality experience in a manufacturing environment will be highly regarded but not essential.

About the opportunity

ARIAM Hub is a collaboration between leading academic researchers and experts from the Australian robotics industry supported by the Australian Research Council to deliver research excellence in robotics for asset management. ARIAM spans 3 renowned Australian universities: The University of Sydney, QUT and ANU. We are expanding our team and have multiple positions opening as part of ARIAM. We are currently seeking an ambitious and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake fundamental and applied research in novel computer vision approaches to high-fidelity drone-based 3D reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure. As part of the Australian Robotic Inspection and Management Research Hub (ARIAM), this position involves working closely with Hub Industry Partner Trendspek on their precision asset modelling and intelligence technology. As part of the research hub you will have opportunities to travel and collaborate with our partners across Australia.

Our current research will focus on combining novel scene representations and computational imaging approaches to enable greater performance in modelling visually challenging scenes from drone-based imagery. Depending on interest and ability there is also scope to develop novel imaging technologies to further improve performance.

This robotic vision-focused position will advance the 3D reconstruction technology required for modelling complex 3D infrastructure. Key challenges include complex appearance due to reflective and transparent surfaces, complex geometries, and dense occlusion from vegetation.

Depending on ability and interest, candidate approaches can include combining representations and visual processing from the graphics and vision communities, including inverse rendering and novel visual and geometric representations, and novel computational imaging devices and algorithms. This project will offer dramatic improvements in sensing robustness and performance, and geometric and textural accuracy in drone-based 3D asset inspection.

In this role you will:

? work closely with a team of project academics, engineers, and PhD students
? develop and characterise novel robotic vision representations, algorithms and/or imaging technologies
? contribute to the ARIAM Hub’s demonstrator program that will showcase your research and that of other Hub projects

In this position, you will play an important role into generating the best laboratory evidence to ultimately drive clinical translation of results for one of the most difficult-to-treat types of childhood cancer, called sarcoma. The position will include work on in vivo sarcoma patient-derived xenograft models, including tumour implantation, in vivo therapy experiments, post-treatment tumour analysis (eg immunohistochemistry, western blot), and survival/growth analysis. We have a range of promising drugs lined up for in vivo testing, and a very real possibility that if these drugs continue to perform well in our experiments, accelerate clinical translation. It will also involve assisting in the molecular and functional studies of sarcoma cell lines and sarcoma samples, including examining the consequences of mutations/fusions, developing functional genomic screens, test drug responses, examine (phospho)protein signal transduction pathways, and identifying potential drug targeting strategies. As our Research Assistant your purpose will be to: Set-up and work with sarcoma patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models. This will involve the subcutaneous engraftment of PDXs, monitoring, and treating via oral gavage or IP.
