The site produces a staggering 35 tonnes of lactoferrin extract annually. Lactoferrin is a naturally occurring iron building protein found in milk, and it is regarded for its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.We have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter to join the team on day shift. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring all factory maintenance functions are carried out in an effective, efficient, and timely manner and for delivering product safely, of the highest quality with minimal waste in the correct quantity when it is required. This role is part of a small, close-knit team who are passionate about ensuring the site is the best it can be.ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibility for providing maintenance support to the siteGeneral maintenance activities within a food processing environmentIdentify, plan, and undertake routine maintenance schedules to achieve machine and line efficiencyPerforming scheduled and ad-hoc safety checks as well as maintaining high standards in Safe Work PracticesSupport continuous improvement systemsAbout youMechanical trade experience or related discipline with the want to further your skill setExperience working in Dairy or similar industryLevel headed and good under pressureA commitment to safety and safe systems of workEffective and clear communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with lots of different people across siteThe Bega Story Bega Cheese Group is home to many trusted and iconic food and beverage brands.
