About the role:
Our finishing department is on the hunt for an energised and motivated person to join the team on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for providing efficient and effective support of its cutting, automated inspection and automated packaging equipment. In addition, this position is responsible for providing NPA with high-level expertise to ensure its equipment operates in accordance with manufacturer’s expectations/and or business objectives.
The key responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:
Work with finishing staff to ensure customer deliveries are met on time in full and at the required quality.
Take an active role by work with finishing staff to maximise machine productivity, utilisation and availability.
Provide feedback, reports and emails on production performance, spoilage and any issues relating to relevant shift.
Provide feedback on the quality of product to other functions and departments
Take an active role in the promotion of a safe working environment and, ensure that Work, Health & Safety (WHS), security and quality procedures are adhered to.
Identify and implement equipment modifications that can improve safety, manual handling, security or productivity.
Work closely with the other process system specialists to plan and complete maintenance and breakdown activities in a timely and professional manner
Take an active role within the AIG to ensure that reports required by AIG customers are produced on time in an accurate and user-friendly manner.
Work with QA and Operations to define and document the process for model creation and modification across all inspection systems.
Take an active role in spoilage reduction initiatives within the finishing area.
Contribute to cost reduction initiatives
Provide training to production staff.
Provide feedback to production staff
Participate in discussions regarding all work related policies, projects and tasks.
Ensure sound and effective working relationships between Finishing and all other NPA departments.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of banknote manufacturing, by introducing and managing new process and projects
Ensure a safe working environment through strong risk management and promoting safe working practices
Report all hazards, incidents and near misses immediately
Act with a high degree of security awareness
Other duties as required by the company.
About you:
Completion of a formal apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical/electronic fields will be highly regarded but not essential.
Computer literacy with spread sheets, project scheduling and word processing.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
Prior quality experience in a manufacturing environment will be highly regarded but not essential.
