As the Senior Lead – Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in developing and driving the strategic direction of TAL. Working closely with TAL’s business units, you will support with the identification, analysis, development, and recommendation of strategic initiatives.
You will help facilitate and deliver the annual strategy process of TAL, including the development of the Board Strategy Day Workshop materials and reporting to TAL’s parent company, Dai-ichi Life.

The Payroll Officer role is the newest addition to our in-house Global payroll team. Reporting to our Global Payroll Manager in Melbourne, you will be joining our People and Culture (P&C) team that fosters collaboration and diversity. You will be responsible for meticulously and promptly preparing and processing the monthly payrolls, with a dedicated emphasis on the Australian region. Your role will involve ensuring the payrolls are error-free and completed on schedule, guaranteeing accuracy and timely delivery. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of the Australian payroll system. While this is a hands-on role, you will be supported by our Payroll Manager, Finance team members and local payroll vendors in respective jurisdictions for quality payroll outcomes for our people and improving operational efficiencies.

To thrive in this role, you'll have previous experience in a fast-paced environment where change is a constant and you're comfortable managing multiple priorities at once! You'll also be excited at the prospect of learning new payroll jurisdictions - we have offices across Australia, UK, Europe, Dubai, Kenya, Bahamas and Chile.

This is a fixed term position for 15 months, with the view to ongoing after the completion of the current payroll implementation project.

As our Payroll Officer, your key responsibilities include, but not limited to :

• Accurately and promptly handle the monthly payroll processing for Pepperstone offices in Australia and other regions (with the support of our Payroll Officer in Cyprus)
• Manage all employee lifecycle changes, including new hires, terminations, redundancies, and salary adjustments, in collaboration with the P&C team
• Address general payroll inquiries from the Pepperstone team
• Supervise and provide assistance with complex payroll queries
• Perform payroll tasks at the end of each period, month, and year
• Deliver a high standard of customer service focused on timeliness, accuracy, and a personable approach while fostering strong working relationships with team members globally
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set by local and governing agencies
• Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation, with support as needed
• Contribute to the development of payroll processes, striving for automation and optimization along with the Payroll Manager
• Provide support to the P&C team in general administration activities

About You:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role as a payroll specialist/officer in Australia.
• Experience working in medium to large businesses (min. 250 employees) with ability to thrive in a high volume and fast paced business.
• Good stakeholder and project management skills to manage and deliver a roadmap of initiatives   
• Excellent attention to details
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to be available across time zones on an ad hoc basis (ex: during payroll cycles).

• Transformation of old sponsorship strategy into a 'strategic partnership' plan with a deeper relationship with associations to penetrate membership base
• Establish new relationships and seek out new partnership opportunities to ensure coverage of high priority segments and new products as needed by the business.
• Hold key relationships with industry associations with overall objective of leveraging association membership base to achieve revenue objectives.
• Initiate on-going conversation and interaction between IT and associations foster relationships and increase brand favourability with high-level industry influencers.
• Negotiation of partnership agreements (both renewal and new) with industry associations to drive new and referral business, generate new leads and retain current customer.
• Strategise and implement conferences & events from creative, brief, to execution
• Ensure smooth execution of events (with the help of marketing assistant) which may include designing of booth space, logistics/courier
• Ensure all attending external conference are properly briefed via Fact Sheet ensuring IT attendees agree on business objectives

• Maintain positive relationships with industry associations in the legal, corporate and practice management industries

The Purpose:

You will be taking on a 12-month role as a Product Manager for Retail Payments within our Retail Payments team. You will be responsible managing products and services across its lifecycles within the Retail Payments portfolio. In order for you to be successful in the role, you’ll have:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in product management.

What’s the day to day like?  

• Be the main point of contact for customers on a daily basis by solving customer queries through Zendesk tickets, phone calls and other channels as necessary.
• Dispatch daily orders, ensuring successful delivery and keeping customers up to date
• Address any issues from customers and oversee day to day operations across the department such as organising returns and refunds and payment cancellations. 
• Liaising with freight companies to ensure deliveries are met and keeping customers informed along the way
• Aim to delight and achieve above industry standard NPS and CSAT scores
• Strive for greater efficiency across all customer support processes including identifying processes for improvement and implementing automations where necessary

Overview of the role

Being a customer-centric company means that you are our port-of-call for all customer feedback which is essential when we want to be one of the best darn digital furniture companies in Australia.

Being an entry level position, we’d love to help train you into becoming the next voice of eva. This is great entry point into a start up, where you'll learn skills such as liaising with operations, learning from the product team, or providing important feedback to marketing. All we need from you is the right mindset to learn quickly, think out of the box and flourish in a role that’s immensely rewarding. Plus we’re a pretty cool bunch of people.

• Experience in ecommerce, logistics or retail consumer goods settings
• Are tech-savvy and have experience using and optimising Zendesk and Monday
• An ability to multitask like a task conquering octopus
• Organisational skills that would make Marie Kondo jealous. 
• Calm under pressure and can think on your feet when tackling problems head-on. You don’t need to always have the answers, but you know where to find them.
• Find yourself naturally building relationships with the barista at your local coffee shop.
• Availability to work a set roster which includes one weekend day 
• You’re data and metrics-driven, you’re naturally inquisitive about what the insights tell us and use this to inform decisions. 
• Ability to work relatively unsupervised
