We’re looking for a Product Compliance & Risk Manager to play a central role in the expansion of our Assets product in Australia.  With Assets, we’re changing how people think about holding money. Our customers can choose to hold their money as “cash”, or hold it as an investment in money market funds, a type of low risk fund that offers a return in line with the applicable interest rate.  This role is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on the way people hold money. 

Your Mission

Wise has launched the Assets product, a new type of investment account, in the UK, Europe and Singapore. Assets enables customers to invest their funds with Wise in various asset classes, including money market funds, while maintaining the immediate access and spending capabilities of a checking account. This product allows customers to earn returns aligned with central bank interest rates, while preserving instant access to their invested funds.

You will help grow the Assets product in Australia. In your role, you’ll ensure that Wise is fully compliant with the regulatory requirements to offer investment products to its customers in Australia. You will also be expected to identify key risks related to Assets product and ensure these are mitigated effectively. 

You will contribute to the growth of the Assets product in Australia. In this role, you’ll ensure that Wise complies with all regulatory requirements for offering investment products to customers in Australia. Additionally, you will identify key risks associated with the Assets product and ensure effective mitigation strategies are in place.

This is a first line Product & Risk Compliance role, embedded in the Product team. 

You will be responsible for: 

Launching and improving the Assets product in Australia in a compliant way:

• Work with product teams throughout the product lifecycle, from design and user testing to launch and post-launch monitoring.

• Serve as the primary contact for any regulatory questions or implications regarding the Wise Assets Australia product.

• Conduct and document thorough regulatory analyses of new products and services, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place before launch.

• Enable product teams to adopt a risk-based approach in developing products, processes, and controls.

• Identify opportunities to enhance our product proposition and competitiveness by thoroughly analysing relevant regulations and challenging existing interpretations and market practices.

Managing and Mitigating Regulatory Risks: 

• Identify regulatory risks and ensure effective mitigation for Wise’s investment product in Australia.

• Conduct pre-launch and ongoing regulatory risk assessments, providing valuable advice to product managers on current and upcoming regulations, gaps, and risks.

• Work with Compliance and Product teams to ensure that remediation plans are agreed upon and executed promptly.

• Collaborate with colleagues in the second-line compliance oversight team to keep product teams informed of new and upcoming regulations.

• In collaboration with second line Compliance and Risk teams, identify and align on the main regulatory issues and risks in Australia. Present this in a very clear and understandable way to the wider teams, to work with them on defining the solutions and how this should be executed. 

We’re looking for a Product Compliance & Risk Manager to join our growing Product Compliance & Risk team in APAC and to help out the Pacific team specifically. This role is hands-on, a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission and help save millions more people money.  

Your mission: 

Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Your mission is to work with our product teams to launch new products and grow our presence in AU/NZ through a deep understanding of the regulatory requirements and Regulators’ expectations around them. 

This is a first line Product Compliance & Risk role, embedded in the APAC Product Squad. 

You, together with the team in Pacific, will be responsible for:  

Creating and improving our amazing products in a compliant way: 

• Deeply understand regulatory needs, translate this into solutions and work together with the Product Teams to build compliant new products and services  in a customer oriented way; 

• Perform regulatory analysis of new products and services, and ensure that related controls are implemented consistently prior to launch; and

• Enable product teams to adopt a risk-based approach in developing products, processes, and controls.

Regulatory risk and remediation:  

• By understanding both the Wise product deeply enough and the local regulatory expectations - support Product and other teams on how to interpret regulatory requirements, and improve processes and our product to avoid regulatory breaches and/or incidents; and

• In collaboration with second line Compliance and Risk teams, identify and align on the main regulatory issues and risks in AU/NZ. Present this in a very clear and understandable way to the wider teams, to work with them on defining the solutions and how this should be executed.

This role is accountable for handling the process aspects of claims assessing required by Claims Consultants to assess claims. The Claims Assistant will also assess low complexity claims as well as assessing and initiating appropriate support options tailored to the customer’s needs where appropriate.

This role is integral to meeting the quality and service standards which ensure the functions are meeting TAL’s Customer and Claims requirements.

• Ensure compliance with TAL policies, procedures and guidelines procedures, ensuring claims management is in accordance with the TAL claims philosophy
• Adhere to external regulations (e.g., Privacy and Life Insurance Code of Practice) and all relevant legislation and industry guidelines
• Ensure all interactions with Customers, Advisers and other internal and external stakeholders adhere to TAL’s
• Customer Service Culture through the provision of high-quality, accurate and compliant work
• Liaise closely across the TAL Claims and other relevant internal departments to provide support in project work (including system and user acceptance testing and procedural reviews)
• Contribute towards a culture of process improvement
• Contribute to department and company projects as required 
• Other ad-hoc duties as required.

Undertake customer service and administration in support of the Claims function, including but not limited to:

• Preparing initial claims for assessment
• Labelling Documents in claims systems
• Monitoring team workflows and taking actions to ensure workflow prioritisation and portfolio management
• Co-ordinating referrals including Medebridge, CDAP, Health Team, Reinsurance
• Scheduling and co-ordinating appointments
• Data entry
• Oversight of claims closures
• Placing LTC checklists into claims
• Oversight of invoicing
• Summarising information from customers e.g., medical reports, clinical notes, rehab updates and progress claim forms
• Answering simple queries from customers e.g., Request for Payment Summaries or payment due dates
• Logging Complaints and Incidents on behalf of consultants
• Holiday/ leave and coverage
• Management of Low Complexity Claims portfolio
• New consultant process coaching
• Draft simple letters to customers – e.g., 5.5 /Payment letters Minimum 1-2 years in a customer service-based role
• Excellent problem-solving skills

Reporting to the Executive Assistant Manager, you will be part of the hotel leadership team and will be responsible for managing maintenance and compliance functions with a hands-on approach. We are looking for someone with a focus on the guest experience and with good organisational and communication skills and previous experience in a hotel environment will be highly valued.  We are offering a salary in the range of $85,000 to $90,000 depending on your skills and experience. 

Keys duties include: 

• Prioritise and carry out maintenance as requested to ensure the smooth running of the hotel operation, including general repairs & maintenance to the property 
• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained to enhance our guest experience 
• Ensure compliance standards are met in aspects of building, equipment, energy consumption, water, contractors, environmental and other brand programs. 
• Support and liaise with any contractors within the hotel ensuring their work is to the standard required by the company and manufacturer specifications, and oversee contractor induction and compliance with legal and hotel requirements 
• Oversee the hotel safety &security systems, including fire prevention measures 
• Be actively involved in the health & safety of our guests and our team members 
• Develop and implement effective strategies and solutions to improve energy management, water management, waste management and conservation
