We are registered builders and joiners who love creating functional and inspiring spaces. Based in Stawell, near the beautiful Grampians, with a team of qualified tradies, we build kitchens, bathrooms, bedroom and homes.
We are expanding into an exciting signature range of furniture and need someone to lead this expansion in the workshop. Providing a challenging and stimulating work environment, SALTWOOD is a family business with a friendly culture. We believe the strength of the team is greater than the sum of its individual members.
Purpose of Job:
To lead the workshop team in the manufacture of signature furniture and joinery to the highest standard.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Leading and building the whole workshop team.
Being responsible for productivity and quality.
Manufacture of bespoke joinery and furniture from start to finish.
Working from drawing and spec sheets.
Being responsible for manufacturing a project from start to finish.
Training and leading junior staff.
Working out quantity of materials required for projects and ordering these.
Operating workshop machinery, power tools and a range of hand tools.
Working with site teams regarding items of joinery they need.
Making sure employees are following industry health and safety guidelines.
Key skills:
Able to lead a team and collectively deliver results.
Exceptional communication skills
Good attention to detail with a high level of quality.
Good problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and proactive with an enthusiastic work ethic
A positive can-do attitude
Qualifications:
Must have 5 years’ plus experience in bespoke furniture, shopfitting or joinery manufacture.
Cabinet making or joinery qualifications.
Software experience in Moziak experience a bonus
Package:
38 hour week, 7:00 – 17:00, Monday – Thursday (Yes, a four day week!)
Tool allowance, Uniform, PPE, fuel allowance and company vehicle will be provided.
Benefits:
$90,000 - $120,000 a year
