Unity Fund Services (UFS) is expanding our team and we are searching for a qualified Fund Accountant in the position of Assistant Manager to help us lead, coach, and mentor our fund accountants as we redefine fund administration.

This role will use your >5 years background as a general accountant (CPA/CA) and your people management experience within fund services environments. Your knowledge of working in a variety of asset classes is essential to this role. It is expected that all our assistant managers have the ability to still be hands-on with the “tools” including highly advanced skills using Excel, Word.

Assistant managers within our team at UFS are able to demonstrate their ability to lead from the front by motivating their teams, sharing knowledge, and coaching their teams to ongoing success. Your proactive, analytical approach to problem-solving and ability to bring a team together is what will drive your success in our organisation. We are searching for assistant managers who have the ability to build a strong rapport with their teams but also be confident advisers to our clients.

The role will see you assume responsibility for a varied portfolio of investment funds which may include wholesale or retail:

property / real estate funds
credit/debt funds
fund of funds
hedge funds
financial assets
other investment funds

Tasks/Responsibility

Managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure all aspects of fund administration are delivered in a compliant and efficient manner
Manage a small team of fund accountants ensuring all team members are trained and motivated to deliver excellent client services
Review and approve for release all client deliverables to a high quality ensuring all procedures and processes are adhered to
Ensure clients meet regulatory obligations in respect of fund administration and tax compliance
Successfully onboard new Funds to required timeframes
Manage all aspects of teamwork flow ensuring work is appropriately allocated and resourced to meet client deadlines and staff development opportunities
With support of team manager ensure all team members are motivated, receive adequate training and have development plans in place to achieve career objectives
Assist with internal projects from time to time
Escalate issues identified by client, trustee and team to ensure a viable solution can be found.

Additional to fundamental Senior Fund Accountant tasks day to day responsibilities include:

• NAV calculation and unit pricing

• Liaison with brokers, fund managers and custodians;

• System and process documentation;

Further requirements to apply

• 3-5 years of fund accounting experience (alternatives, hedge, private equity or property fund administration experience helpful but not essential);

• Ability to deliver accurate and timely work in accordance with deadlines;

• Understanding of accounting principles;

• Excellent written and communication skills;

• Relevant qualifications in accounting and/or finance (CPA/CA qualified or willingness to study towards);

• Strong discipline in record keeping;

• A team player and also able to work independently;

• Understanding and respect of confidentiality.

• Advanced Excel and competent Word and PowerPoint skills

The role

We are looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our Finance team at our Prestons site in Southwest Sydney.

Our payroll team are responsible for managing the payroll across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting through to the Group Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

Coordination of new employee documents
Separation of employment activities
Master file maintenance and updates
Leave management (Kronos and ConnX)
Weekly and Monthly payroll processing (MicrOpay)
Month end reporting

This is a typical fast paced Payroll Officer role where you can bring to life your ‘do it right the first time attitude’, your love for following processes and procedures, and your passion for teamwork.

About you

You will have the normal requirements of an experienced Payroll Officer, and if you can tick the box on the details below, then we want to hear from you!

Previous experience (3-5 years) in full function payroll
Be helpful and have the mindset that nothing is too much of a problem for you
Have strong computer skills within the Microsoft Office suite
Be known as someone who has a keen eye for detail and produces accurate work

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a motivated and proactive Human Resource Advisor to join the team on a permanent full-time basis. This is an office based opportunity working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Come home each night and enjoy your weekends every week!

Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, this role will provide support and assistance with the administration of the day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties, assisting in the areas of onboarding, learning and development, performance management, recruitment and general HR administration. They will establish and maintain high quality and timely work flow of the HR administration and coordination to enable effective performance of a wide range of HR functions, ensuring a high level of service to the team and the Cruise Whitsundays business whilst maintaining complete confidentiality. As a support function, this role will be required to travel on our vessels on a regular basis to provide support to our on-water team.

Key responsibilities

Manage the recruitment and talent acquisition process and liaise with Senior Recruitment Partner (JB), management and external agencies as required;
Coordinate work experience and industry programs;
Prepare contracts of employment and employment related correspondence;
Ensure new starter documents for setting up new employees is complete and accurate;
Provide guidance and support to leaders on onboarding and induction programs for new employees;
Oversee probationary period reviews including audits, reminders and confirmations;
Work closely with the wider HR Team to support the businesses and collaboratively drive key HR initiatives/projects;
Provide general support on a range of administrative and operational matters to ensure the effective running HR;
Provide key metric and general reporting to the Leadership team;
Coordination and record keeping for key employee dates.

THE CANDIDATE

To be successful in this position you will have a proven ability to effectively multi-task and meet allocated deadlines. You will be process-driven and able to operate calmly under pressure, whilst assisting the Leadership team with making informed decisions and balance multiple competing priorities. You will be a self-motivated team player with a demonstrated positive "can-do" attitude and extensive experience in a similar role. You will have intermediate to advance experience utilising multiple software systems and the Microsoft suite of products, while self-managing administrative tasks and processes.

About the Role

The Mobility Services team helps companies by supporting their environments day to day and recommending best practises to follow and implement. The team designs, builds and supports solutions end to end allowing our customers to switch to modern managed solutions and support them along the way in conjunction with other Datacom groups.. You will problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how these products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative.

As a Mobility Engineer you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Customers EMM systems with minimal direction; and you will have a focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience to Datacom’s EMM customer base.

This role is available across all Australian offices (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra) and will require Australian Citizenship to obtain a Baseline or NV1 Clearance.

What you’ll do

As Mobility Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

Be available to travel to Datacom, customer sites and conferences
Using tools and processes to deliver services to customers in accordance with SLAs
Operational support of customer systems including proactive monitoring of systems, assisting with incident resolution, performing standard and non-standard changes
Identification of inefficient procedures or processes and suggesting improvements for implementation
Produce accurate, concise, and timely reports as required
Provide "on-the-job" training, guidance, and assistance to less experienced Datacom staff to ensure overall competence in the company continually improves
Creating efficiencies to enhance our ability to support the customers environment.
Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions such as supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, projects, proof-of-concept management, and training of Datacom support staff.
Creation of design documents (HLD, DDD and LLD)
Build customer environment using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune)
Build customer environment using VMware WS1

Assume the role of technical leader or design engineer in deployment/refresh projects as required.
Follow best practice methodologies and adhere to recognised ITIL processes (EG: Change/release)
Identification and escalation of perceived poor practice or inefficiencies
Ensure all systems are built to agreed processes and design (EG: Build guides)
Provide technical leadership for major incidents
Validate and assist in the maintenance of the client’s risk and issues registers
Complete time recording processes for work performed as required
Provide governance to all implementations and changes affecting iOS and Android OS devices
Provide governance to all implementations and changes affecting the Google Chrome OS device environment
Provide device support to meet customer demands for the resolution of incidents, problems and change service requests as well as business improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring

You will have 5 years’ IT industry experience, preferably within an IT managed service provider, with approx. 2 years’ experience in a similar Mobility role. You will possess excellent knowledge of iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows 10 operating systems. Along with good working knowledge of networking and TCP/IP, AD, DHP, DNS and Enterprise applications. MobileIron, Google admin, VMware WS1 (SEG, UAG, ENS) and/ or Microsoft Intune administration skills would be a huge advantage. You will bring exceptional troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and prioritisation skills; and will be comfortable and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
