Western Health is seeking passionate Midwives to join the dynamic Maternity Services team at Joan Kirner Women's & Children's (JKWC). Our dedicated Women’s and Children’s tertiary-level facility stands 8 floors tall, proudly and passionately serving families of Melbourne’s western suburbs with quality and evidence-based care. The state-of-the-art facility with 26 large spacious birthing rooms with four having luxurious birthing pools makes women comfortable, secure and safe throughout their maternity experience.

Midwives are actively encouraged to up-skill, develop their critical thinking, take leadership roles and lead care planning with an emphasis on person-centred care. As a Registered Midwife (or Nurse/Midwife) you have the opportunity to work on rotation (or solely) across areas such as:

Antenatal Clinic
Maternity Assessment Centre (MAC)
Birthing Suite & High Care Unit (HCU)

Incorporating elements of each department is our well-established continuity of care model- ‘Midwifery Group Practice’ (MGP). Catering for approximately 14% of all birthing families at JKWCH, our MGP is the largest in Victoria.
