About This Opportunity

An exciting opportunity for a teaching focused lecturer in the marketing discipline on a continuing basis. The marketing discipline has a highly active research group, with researchers that have published in the top journals in marketing and related subject areas.

You will engage and contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching and further development of the School’s programs; contribute to scholarship of teaching and teaching innovation; and to perform administrative and other activities associated with the School.

Key responsibilities will include:

Teaching

Teach across different settings and develop evidence-based, innovative curriculum design and pedagogy including online learning and blended teaching methods and resources.

Coordinate courses, prepare and teach lectures and tutorials, design effective assessment and undertake marking for offerings including undergraduate and postgraduate courses

Contribute to the development of new programs and course material as needed, by consulting with program advisors and stakeholders, ensuring courses are engaging, relevant and contemporary.

Engage in educational collaborations to document and disseminate good teaching practices in the unit.

Maintain and improve the quality of courses as measured through evaluation instruments to meet industry and educational standards.

Undertake other activities which contribute to maintaining currency within the discipline and professional learning in teaching.

Provide high-quality service to students, including academic counselling and advice.

Understand and apply University Rules relevant to teaching and learning practice.

Supervision and Researcher Development

Effectively engage in supervision duties which may include supervising Coursework Masters, Honours, Higher Degree by Research and vacation scholars.

Demonstrate active engagement in the responsible conduct of research, where applicable.

Facilitate engagement opportunities for supervisees, where applicable.

This is a full-time (100%), continuing position at Academic level B. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $106,079.67 - $125,687.99, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $124,113.21 - $147,054.95 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

About You

PhD (or submitted for final review) in the marketing (or relevant) discipline.

Evidence of high-quality university teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in one or more areas of Marketing: advertising, branding, consumer behaviour, market and consumer research, digital marketing, social marketing, services marketing, quantitative marketing, business analytics.

Evidence of scholarship of teaching, including education research, and teaching innovations.

Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning

Evidence of value-adding service roles in a university setting.

A profile of professional expertise that complements and/or supplements the expertise that currently exists within the School and the broader University.

About This Opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to innovative research developments within the scope of data management and data mining. This position will be jointly supported by ARC Discovery Project DP200103650 Making Spatiotemporal Data More Useful: An Entity Linking Approach and the Australian Research Council (ARC) Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Information Resilience (CIRES).

This position will be based in CIRES which provides additional opportunities to the successful candidate to work across multiple projects with industry and government partners, providing a wealth of experience in multi-disciplinary teams, research planning, and industry and public sector dynamics. As a research focused academic at level A the incumbent will be supported and guided by more senior academic research staff with the expectation of an increasing degree of autonomy over time.

Key responsibilities will include:?

Research
Conduct innovative and reproducible research related to data management, with a particular focus on entity linking and privacy protection of spatiotemporal data.
Disseminate results through high-quality publications and open-source algorithms.
Participate in regular meetings to discuss project objectives, methodology and outcomes.
Participate in interactions and liaisons with research and industry collaborators.
Produces quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms by publishing or exhibiting in high-quality outlets.
Participate in applications for competitive research funding to support projects and activities.

About You ?

Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience in developing machine learning and deep learning methods, preferably pre-training and self-supervised learning techniques applied to spatiotemporal data analysis
Knowledge of issues and challenges underpinning modern data science, especially spatiotemporal data management (e.g., data storage, data integration, spatiotemporal indexing, data mining,).
Experience in conducting research projects, demonstrating high-level written and oral communication skills.
Peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals or premiere conferences relevant to data mining or data science, e.g., SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, KDD, ICDM, AAAI, IJCAI, WWW, SIGIR, CIKM, CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS and ACM/IEEE transactions.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross-disciplinary research team.

About the opportunity

ARIAM Hub is a collaboration between leading academic researchers and experts from the Australian robotics industry supported by the Australian Research Council to deliver research excellence in robotics for asset management. ARIAM spans 3 renowned Australian universities: The University of Sydney, QUT and ANU. This position will be supervised by Dr Donald Dansereau, head of the Robotic Imaging Lab within the Australian Centre for Robotics (ACFR) at the University of Sydney. The ACFR is one of Australia’s leading robotics research groups, and the Robotic Imaging Lab is focused on endowing machines with new ways of seeing the world.

We are expanding our team and have multiple positions opening as part of ARIAM. We are currently seeking an ambitious and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake fundamental and applied research in novel computer vision approaches to high-fidelity drone-based 3D reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure. As part of the Australian Robotic Inspection and Management Research Hub (ARIAM), this position involves working closely with Hub Industry Partner Trendspek on their precision asset modelling and intelligence technology. As part of the research hub you will have opportunities to travel and collaborate with our partners across Australia.

Our current research will focus on combining novel scene representations and computational imaging approaches to enable greater performance in modelling visually challenging scenes from drone-based imagery. Depending on interest and ability there is also scope to develop novel imaging technologies to further improve performance.

This robotic vision-focused position will advance the 3D reconstruction technology required for modelling complex 3D infrastructure. Key challenges include complex appearance due to reflective and transparent surfaces, complex geometries, and dense occlusion from vegetation.

Depending on ability and interest, candidate approaches can include combining representations and visual processing from the graphics and vision communities, including inverse rendering and novel visual and geometric representations, and novel computational imaging devices and algorithms. This project will offer dramatic improvements in sensing robustness and performance, and geometric and textural accuracy in drone-based 3D asset inspection.

In this role you will:

? work closely with a team of project academics, engineers, and PhD students
? develop and characterise novel robotic vision representations, algorithms and/or imaging technologies
? contribute to the ARIAM Hub’s demonstrator program that will showcase your research and that of other Hub projects
? contribute as a researcher to project report preparation, presentation at internal workshops, and dissemination at top international conferences and journals as well as via internal workshops and presentations.

About This Opportunity
We are seeking an inspired and talented postdoctoral researcher in molecular immunology to join our team. The project will explore the molecular basis of immunity to disease, inter-individual immune variation, and vaccine responsiveness using samples from human experimental infection models or vaccination. The primary focus of the research is to accelerate the development of immunotherapeutics, vaccines and diagnostics against chronic infectious diseases using systems immunology as a platform. It will provide an opportunity to be involved in cutting-edge advances spanning diverse fields of immunology and functional genomics, including single-call and spatial transcriptomics. The work will complement ongoing systems-based and therapeutic development efforts at UQ directed at infectious and chronic disease and is anticipated to have broad application to many disease targets. About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead a project to develop a rationally-designed vaccine against malaria.

By taking advantage of recent advances in genomic sequencing, proteomics, transcriptional profiling, and molecular immunology, we have discovered unique targets of T cell responses or antibody responses against malaria. This NIH-funded project will test these antigens as vaccine candidates by engineering novel vaccine platforms to enhance T cell responses and assessing immunogenicity, protective capacity and biological function in pre-clinical models of malaria. By establishing proof-of-concept for rational vaccine design from genomic data, this project is expected to advance the development of an effective vaccine against malaria with implications for other challenging public health threats.

The candidate will work with national and international experts and gain experience in malaria biology, immunology and vaccinology, with a specific focus on novel vaccine technologies including mRNA and viral vector vaccine platforms.

The Organisation
The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) within the Faculty of Medicine & Health is one of the largest teaching and research intensive Schools at UNSW. The Baum lab (www.baumlab.com) within SBMS aims to translate fundamental discoveries in parasite biology into interventions that will aid the control and eventual eradication of malaria; the lab is passionate about fundamental discovery research, point-of-care diagnostics and the long-hoped for dream of an efficacious, easy to deploy malaria vaccine.

Why this role matters

The position will provide technical and research assistance to senior research staff in activities associated with various elements of research projects, including contribution and application of knowledge in the field of molecular biology, parasitology and computational biology within the School of Biomedical Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine & Health, UNSW Sydney.

Your skills and experience:

A university degree in biological, biomedical, biotechnological or computer-science or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training or experience.
Direct experience in advanced molecular biology techniques (including PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction and design of primers & preferably LAMP), advanced malaria parasitology experience (including in vitro culture of malaria parasites and their interaction with mosquitoes in a lab setting) and/or direct experience of computational approaches for protein structure design and analysis (including the coding of an application of AlphaFold or other related deep learning approaches to protein structure).

Terms of Employment
This is a full-time position, with a minimum commitment of 2 to 4 years.

About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading School of Music as a Lecturer in Violin. The position is designed for a violinist to build on their record of achievement in teaching, performance, research, service and engagement at a world top-50 university. The successful candidate will engage in internal and external collaborations that influence teaching practices, policies, and/or knowledge.

Key responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
Teaching
Demonstrate a record of effective contribution to a range of teaching responsibilities including 1:1 violin lessons, chamber music, and side-by-side ensemble activity.
Coordinate courses, prepare and deliver workshops and ensemble classes, and undertake assessment and marking for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Performance and Research
Be developing an active record of producing high quality music performance and research activity consistent with discipline norms, including national and international performances, artistic, non-traditional or creative works research outputs, or publications in research journals or other appropriate outlets.
Take an active role in obtaining funding to support collaborative projects and activities.

Supervision and Researcher Development
Act as Principal Supervisor for undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.

Citizenship and Service
Participate in the UQ Chamber Academy and other outreach and recruitment initiatives.
Perform a range of internal service roles and processes, including high level of collaboration and participation in decision-making and service on relevant committees.
Advance external links and partnerships by collaborating on external activities and sustain relationships with industry, government departments, professional bodies and the wider community.

This is a full-time, continuing position at Academic Level B. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $104,579 - $124,287 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $122,358 - $145,299 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

About You
The successful candidate for this position will possess:
Completion of a PhD or DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in a relevant music discipline, and experience working in a tertiary music setting.
An established profile in teaching, including national recognition and a developing international profile.
Evidence of high-quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.
A track record of participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.
An established profile in performance including national recognition and a developing international profile. This activity will ideally extend into an established record of innovative approaches to performance, non-traditional research outputs, and may include traditional research publications.
Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external funding for performance or research activity.
Evidence of successful supervision of independent student research and project activity to successful completion.
Evidence of meaningful service within institutions and to the discipline.

About the Selection Process
As part of the selection process, applicants shortlisted for interview will be required to present a performance and presentation about their creative work and give a teaching masterclass or demonstration prior to their scheduled interview.

Based in our state-of-the-art facility in Cessnock and working within a team of Multidisciplinary Allied Health Professionals, we are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist who would be managing a varied caseload including treating Musculoskeletal conditions and the rehabilitation of clients living with a disability. 

You will be responsible for:


Managing a caseload, undertaking assessment, diagnosis and the evidence-based management of clients, using a range of tools and equipment.
Providing care to this clinically stimulating caseload includes clients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, pre/post operative orthopaedics rehabilitation, and the rehabilitation of clients with neurological or physical disabilities.
Providing client centered clinical care with a view to maximising functional capacity, achieving goals, optimising client health, function and independence in the long term.
Maintain administrative duties, including relevant documentation and reporting associated with optimal client care.
You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively within an incredible team of Allied Health Professionals
