Location: Sydney Eastern Suburbs Load: Full time Contract Type: Max-term Salary range: $80,000-$100,000 The Role In this role, you will educate children to develop literacy and numeracy skills and foster social, physical and emotional growth. Tasks Include: teaching literacy, numeracy, social science, creative expression and physical education skills to primary school students presenting prescribed curriculum using a range of teaching techniques and materials developing students' interests, abilities and coordination by way of creative activities guiding discussions and supervising work in class preparing, administering and marking tests, projects and assignments to evaluate students' progress and recording the results discussing individual progress and problems with students and parents, and seeking advice from Student Counsellors and senior teachers maintaining discipline in classrooms and other school areas participating in staff meetings, educational conferences and workshops liaising with parent, community and business groups maintaining class and scholastic records performing extra-curricular tasks such as assisting with sport, school concerts, excursions and special interest programs supervising student teachers on placement Essential Requirements: Hold NESA Accreditation: Successful applicants must be accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), demonstrating their commitment to high educational standards. Possess a Primary Education Degree: Applicants should have a degree in Primary Education from a recognised tertiary institution. Maintain a Current Working with Children Check. Understand Effective Teaching Strategies: We are seeking educators who can demonstrate an understanding of how students learn and possess effective classroom teaching and management strategies. The Ideal Candidate: Has the ability to engage students and inspire them to achieve their personal best. Has a natural rapport with staff, students and parents/carers. Possesses a clear understanding of teaching and learning, and specialist knowledge and understanding of curriculum. Can differentiate the curriculum in the classroom. Is passionate about teaching in a primary school setting.
