About the role:

We are looking for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer with experience in a manufacturing facility to join our team in Kooragang Island, NSW on a full-time permanent basis.

Orica Kooragang Island’s manufacturing complex is comprised of an Ammonia plant, three nitric acid plants, and two ammonium nitrate plants. The site has significant dispatch operations, capable of providing bagged, containerized, or bulk products for distribution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving work strategies for all assets within their responsible discipline across the Manufacturing Centre that ensures and improves the availability of the Production Cell(s) of the Manufacturing Centre’s Product Line(s) to achieve their objectives across. Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

To deliver these responsibilities, the Mechanical Engineer shall work collaboratively across all Manufacturing Centre departments and across the areas of Work Strategies Management, Defect Elimination, Master Data Management, Conditions Monitoring, and Performance Management.

What you will be doing

More specifically, the Mechanical Engineer will deliver the following within their responsible discipline:
 
. Support and execute all initiatives associated with the improvement and maintenance of site assets through the SAP CMMS.
. Manage all relevant changes to Manufacturing Centre maintenance strategies and master data through a defined Maintenance of Change process and ensure master data meets Orica’s master data standard. 
. Promote understanding and use of reliability tools (e.g. Weibull, FMECA, and RBM) across equipment and plants, as well as work management processes within the defect elimination process, to identify and implement reliability improvements.
. Deliver day-to-day technical support to the Product Line and other departments to ensure Product Line continuity.
. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reliability with operators, maintainers, and engineering peers.

The Mechanical Engineer is required to carefully balance the competing priorities of day-to-day support for the product lines and the proactive efforts of plant reliability improvements to ensure both immediate production objectives and medium- to long-term improvement objectives are achieved.

What you will bring:

 . Role ideally suited to individuals with a minimum experience of 3 years in the petrochemical or chemical manufacturing industry with considerable change management and safety components.
. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
. Good technical engineering skills and understanding with emphasis on pressure systems, high-speed turbo machinery, furnaces, pumps, machine guarding, maintenance cost analysis, and reliability improvement techniques.
. Well-developed Root Cause Analysis (5-Why, Apollo) problem-solving and decision-making skills.
. Good understanding of maintenance cost analysis and reliability improvement tools and techniques (FMECA, RCM, etc.)

Overview of Position

Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and improvements of a wide range of electrical systems, equipment and instruments within the plant and managing the integrity of the Instrument, PCS, HMI, and PLC control systems.

Key Accountabilities

? Manage the plant instrument systems, including hardware, software, and communication systems.
? Develop and implement electrical systems and make adjustments or improvements to electrical systems/instruments and control equipment/system.
? Prepare, review and analyze technical documents, schematics and drawings of electrical systems, equipment and instruments.
? Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all instruments.
? Carry out modifications to instrument hardware, programs and software.

Duties
• Aircrafts engineering Maintenance 95%.
• Facility engineering Maintenance 5%.
• Perform inspection, rectification, maintenance, and certification on company aircraft and equipment, as per manufacturer /company’s specifications to a very high standard.
• Ensuring timely and correct certification of all work carried out.
• Complying with the company’s Safety Management System.
• Maintain close working relationship with Chief Engineer or his deputy.
• Ensure all work is performed to the appropriate standard.
• Ensure all work is performed using safe work practices and observe WHS requirements.
• Work the nominated periods along with some overtime when required.
• Maintain appropriate approvals as required by the authority.
• Comply with all relevant FTA policies and CASA regulations.

Qualifications and experience

Essential
• Hold a B1.2 CASA Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
• CASA license for either/both engine and airframe categories.
• Have Proven Experience in the GA Industry
• Hold a valid Driver’s License
• Hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card or be able to obtain one
• Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia
• Desirable
• Experience with Garmin 1000
• Good work skills and sound work practices
• Good work ethic and willing team player.
• Physical demand:
• The ability to lift 2/10/15 kg regularly
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces

Location
There is no scheduled bus/train service to the FTAQ campus and only a limited bus service that stops at Wellcamp Airport. The location of FTAQ campus from Wellcamp Airport is 3.7 km if walking. You will need your own transportation due to our remote location.
