Key Role and Responsibilities of the Position:
As a Process Engineer at Fenn Foods, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our cutting-edge facility. Reporting to the CEO and supported by a team of experienced engineering professionals, your responsibilities include:
• Prepare comprehensive reports providing vital information for major project decisions.
• Develop and execute performance improvement plans with established timelines.
• Monitor and evaluate business performance, providing insightful performance reports.
• Train, mentor, and guide team members in adopting new processes.
• Stay up-to-date with developments in management and process optimization.
• Develop and implement business improvement strategies.
• Coordinate and manage key process improvement/change projects, including the launch of new products.
• Lead product, process, equipment, and facilities business systems analysis and assessments.
• Make recommendations for change, involving process redesign and business case development.
• Ensure efficient and effective resource use at the lowest cost.
• Ensure processes, equipment, and procedures comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Strive for maximum energy efficiency.
• Assist with the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program.
• Identify current industry best practices and implement them into facilities and operations.
• Coordinate projects with supervisors, providing necessary directions for timely and efficient performance.
• Coordinate the strategy area program of works, managing project documentation, external contract management, and capital expenditure, including budget and cash flow.
• Work closely with key stakeholders to deliver projects to agreed milestone dates.
• Develop technical specifications and commercial contracts required to implement capital projects within the area of responsibility.
• Perform due diligence on submissions from the reliability team, complete project feasibility studies, and design equipment and plant installations to meet project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with capital processes, procedures, and standards related to best practice.
Eligibility Criteria (Max 1000 words):
Prospective candidates for this hands-on role should ideally possess:
•Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
•Knowledge of HACCP-based food safety plans and accredited quality management systems (e.g., ISO, MSQA, BRC, MPI-NZ, WQA).
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to resolve problems and improve systems.
•Two years of hands-on experience in process optimization, operations, or business management.
•Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with operational personnel and management.
•Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor a team and individuals.Dependability and high workload capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
•Analytical mindset with a sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes and organizational structures.
•Strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with numerical competencies.
•Experience with fresh produce/food is preferable, though not essential.
•Advanced knowledge of food safety, SQF, HACCP, and GMP environments is advantageous.
Additional Requirements: Non-Australian Citizens must hold an appropriate Visa with working entitlements allowing paid employment with Fenn Foods for the term of the appointment, depending on the relevant current policies. It is a requirement of this role that you are and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination will be required as a pre-commencement requirement.
