About the RoleÂ
The Postdoctoral Fellow will lead 3D imaging research in Orthodontics and Craniofacial morphology at the Melbourne Dental School, working under the guidance of A/Prof. Paolo Cattaneo and Prof. Marie Cornelis. Key responsibilities include analysing orthodontic and craniofacial 3D datasets, conducting experiments ethically and accurately, contributing to publications, and mentoring students and staff.Â
Your responsibilities will include:Â
Work with orthodontic and craniofacial 3D datasets and analyse data using appropriate 3D software and equipment.Â
Plan and carry out experiments focused on completion of research project aims.Â
Preparing reports, undertaking quantitative analysis and providing input into the interpretation of results.Â
Carry out experiments related to the project ethically, accurately and productively.Â
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will demonstrate a developing research track record in Orthodontics, with expertise in clinical Orthodontics and 3D imaging. They must possess strong collaborative, organisational, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Desirable qualifications include clinical expertise in Orthodontics and evidence of Research Higher Degree supervision.
You will also have:
A completed PhD in Orthodontics or related discipline.
Developing research track record and the potential to conduct high quality research in Orthodontics and to contribute efficiently to research teams under supervision.
Knowledge and experience in 3D imaging, dental digital workflow, orthodontic tooth movement, image and data collection, data analysis, data presentation.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
