The Role
Our Bentley site is where we manufacture and distribute a range of milk and milk-based products, made with fresh milk sourced direct from over 30 farms in the Albany, Harvey and Northcliffe regions of south-western WA. The site currently manufactures in excess of 70 million litres a year including the state's number one flavoured milk product - Masters!
We have an excellent opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join the production team. You will report to the Engineering Reliability and Engineering Manager and look after the automation and continuous improvement activities to support the production & ongoing upgrades. You will provide technical recommendations and assist with different site activities. We are looking for someone with automation experience and is always looking for ways to improve processes.
This is a site-based role, working Monday to Friday. Start and finish times are flexible based on business and site needs.
Responsibilities
Providing hands-on support for issues impacting production and technical expertise as required
Support electrical (automation) skills assessments and drive to upskill trade workforce in automation field
Optimising and improving electrical maintenance tasks
Working with cross-functional teams including IT to support OT infrastructure onsite and it’s integration & interaction with non-OT devices, platforms and departments
Leading minor continuous improvement projects from design to commissioning
About you
Qualifications in Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics Engineering discipline
Demonstrated experience in the manufacturing, preferably FMCG/Food & Beverage
High level process improvement skills with analytical ability and strategic problem-solving skills
Project management and technical engineering capability
Familiarity with process control systems and lean manufacturing practices preferred
Ability to think and influence change at a project level
Ability to engage stakeholders on all levels
Strong communication skills and an ability to break down complex, technical states for unfamiliar people
