About the role:

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide day-to-day assessment and clinical management of all patients within the NICU and may include care of extreme preterm, surgical, and unwell neonates
You will be responsible for attending high-risk and emergency births to provide expert resuscitation for the neonate and support for maternity colleagues

Our multidisciplinary surgical team has an exceptional culture of clinical learning and support, helping every team member to advance their career. We work closely with our Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) team to ensure our patients receive evidence based post-operative nursing care. As a nurse within the team, you will have access to a dedicated practice development nurse and a team of clinical nurse specialists to support your development.

The surgical ward is a 32-bed unit located on level 6 at Peter Mac. Our patients enjoy single and double rooms with a patient entertainment system, online meal ordering and access to our communal spaces within and external to the ward. Peter Mac sits within the Parkville precinct and is easily accessible by public transport, bicycle or car with staff parking available onsite. Peter Mac also boasts great coffee and food at our multiple cafés.

The Townsville Maternal Fetal Medicine Service is one of the few regional MFM units in Australia and the only MFM Department outside south-east Queensland.

About the role

As a Rehabilitation Consultant you will play a vital role in the provision of workplace rehabilitation services to help build better lives through work and health. As part of the team you’ll support people to get well and working.

As a valued team member, your responsibilities will include:

• Undertake Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Assessments, prepare and manage ADL Upgrading plans
• Undertake worksite, functional, ergonomic, equipment and home assessments
• Identifying Return to Work (RTW) barriers
• Liaising with clients, insurers, medical practitioners and employers to achieve outcomes appropriate for all parties
• Designing, implementing and monitoring programs that assist our clients to return to the workforce

• Open to OT students completing studies in 2023/2024
• Part-time employment as a Rehabilitation Assistant with flexible hours whilst you complete your 2022 studies and registration
• Fast-track into WorkFocus Australia’s graduate program, which provides a strong grounding in OT practice in your first 12 months, with weekly supervision with one of our experienced OT Leaders
• Tailored graduate program plan designed around your career goals, with exposure across Workplace Rehabilitation, Early Intervention, Prevention, Community and Wellness training and caseloads
• Full-time employment with WorkFocus Australia as an Occupational Therapist at one of our offices nation-wide after successful completion of the graduate program

 

Job Title: Stem Cell Collections Network Supervisor (Afterhours)

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in a relevant role (Refer to essential knowledge and skills)

Some of the DUTIES you will be performing:

• Manage a network of 70+ highly skilled and professional clinical labour workforce
• Provide on-call/after-hours escalations management to coordinate the 24 hour stem cell collection service, please note the requirement is a minimum of 80 hours on call per week
• Coordinate expectant parents and hospital maternity stakeholders regarding pending collections
• Provide emergency stem cell collections training and advice to all stakeholders including collectors, midwives, nurse unit managers, specialist obstetricians and corporate staff
• Monitor progress of client stem cell collections and take steps to improve the service involving other members of the Cell Care team as appropriate
• Participate in cord blood stem cell collection policy development and implementation

Maintaining key relationships with brokers and service providers.
Resolving complex claims, acting as a referral point for the wider teams
Develop and implement strategies with intermediaries and oversee portfolio management and claims allocation
Improving process by discussing trends, policy wordings, high value claims
Quality Assurance framework to measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), monitor practices, drive internal engagement and build performance capability in the business.

What you'll need to succeed Working as a Claims Manager you will need;

At least + 5 years experience within intermediated claims (Accident & Health preferred)
2IC experience preferred
Have a solid knowledge of general Insurance legislation and statutory framework
Proven high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

What you'll get in return If you are successful, you will be receiving;

A salary of between $95k - $110k + Super + Bonus (Depending on experience)
A role working a minimum of 38hrs a week, working Monday to Friday standard business hours
WFH flexibility - 3 in the office, 2 days from home.
