This position would suit a candidate with previous golf course mechanic experience or someone with high level mechanical knowledge, that also has a keen interest in golf and/or turf.   The successful applicant must have experience with petrol and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and welding experience. Mechanical qualifications, fabrication skills and turf experience will be highly regarded but are not essential. A current NSW Drivers licence and own transport is a must.   Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, key responsibilities of the Head Mechanic include: Implements and maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment  Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance machinery and equipment and schedules appropriate preventative maintenance work  Performs mower grinding/sharpening Performs general overhaul of motors, reels, and installs and adjusts braking systems Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment  Maintains accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, parts ordered Helps to control costs and expenses  Incorporates safe work practices into daily job performance and maintains a clean and safe workshop Performs other duties as required   The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong work ethic and have well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with colleagues and guide staff in the safe and efficient use of plant and equipment operation.   They will work autonomously, having the ability to work unsupervised, effectively managing their own time, and be able to prioritise and multitask. No two days are the same so they will like the variety this role provides.   This position is available as casual, part time or full-time, depending on the successful candidate’s availability and needs. Purchasing Manager is required by a highly successful mining company based in Osborne Park.

You will be responsible for leading a team of both centralised and remote purchasing officers and support staff to deliver timely and efficient purchasing of equipment, materials, supplies, and services across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and improve team performance across the function to ensure optimal performance at the lowest transactional cost.
Optimise workload distribution, and priorities of the team by monitoring workload and assignment of the appropriate tasks.
Contribute to the management of the supplier base through administration of the supplier in the boarding process as well as active review of the supplier list to maintain cost targets and efficiency.
Monitor, analyse and manage performance against agreed benchmarks utilising agreed KPI and reporting mechanisms.
Develop and recommend systems, process, flow chart improvements to increase compliance, contractor efficiency and cost-effectiveness across all sites.
Lead and manage the gathering of market intelligence and identification of new suppliers.
Ensure key meetings and work procedures are properly documented and institutionalised.
Conduct audits of potential and current suppliers to guarantee an optimum supplier base.
Resolve complaints and queries.
Collaborate with operations and planning regularly on demand and bottlenecks.
Process new contracts and monitor contract renewals to ensure adequate time for appropriate renewal action.



Skills and Experience:

Significant experience in purchasing, procurement, or contract administration.
Experience and knowledge of the mining equipment industry.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong time management skills and ability to plan and forecast.

This is a permanent role based in Osborne Park and is paying a salary between $130 - $150k + super.
