About the Job

The Senior Associate role will directly assist the Head of Unlisted Valuations and will be responsible for managing valuations and performing oversight activities (such as due diligence and trigger monitoring) for Rest’s A$17 billion in unlisted investments. This role will require strong stakeholder management skills and will work closely with Rest internal investment team as well as external investment managers, valuers and advisors. The Senior Associate will also have the opportunity to present regularly at the Valuation Committee that is chaired by the CFO.

About You:

Key accountabilities/ responsibilities:

• Managing valuation risk by ensuring valuation conclusions are appropriate and we have robust documentation to support our valuation conclusions.
• Active involvement with the Asset Class Investment teams, external managers and external valuers (including Infrastructure, Property, Private Equity and Alternatives) to understand and challenge valuation assumptions, inputs and ensure an independent view.
• Reviewing key valuation metrics and assumptions for consistency across the portfolio and maintain and database thereof.
• Administering the valuation timetable (including the RFP process) and ensure valuations are recorded on a timely basis. Will also need to manage and organise valuation tenders and appointment of external valuers and advisors.
• Researching and developing valuation insights for use in the valuation of unlisted assets.
• Preparing monthly Valuation Papers for the Finance Valuation Committee and presenting papers at the Committee.

About the Job

This is a key role within the Advice Technology team. The Senior Advice Technology Consultant will lead and develop the Advice systems and related processes required to deliver advice online, over the phone and in person effectively and efficiently.  Manage the development and delivery of core technology components (advice related where shared technology components) of the advice operating systems according to regulatory compliance, best practice and in line with business needs. Manage key advice vendor relationships and participate in forming Rest’s digital advice strategy, including making recommendations on emerging advice technologies that may assist in Rest achieving strategic objectives for our members.

Responsible for providing technical expertise for all advice systems, including:

• Primarily managing the Midwinter AdviceOS system including Rest’s custom digital solution.
• Documenting functional requirements and technical specifications (where relevant) for advice solutions including templates used by advice team.
• Testing advice technology updates to ensure alignment with Rest advice processes and procedures.
• Investigation and analysis of any issues relating to the advice technology solution.
• Managing and liaising with relevant internal stakeholders (and external vendors where needed) in relation to enhancements and issues with all other technology components of the advice solution.
• Defining, implementing and managing the change management and release management processes of Midwinter deliverables.
• Responsible for, in conjunction with the Head of Advice and Retirement Services and Senior Manager, Advice and Retirement Quality, ensuring compliance with ASIC guidelines on AFSL’s providing digital financial product advice (RG 255) and any other regulations to do with the provision of advice through technology and systems.
• Responsible (in conjunction with Head of Advice and Retirement Services and Senior Manager, Advice and Retirement Quality) for ensuring processes are developed and maintained for all technology services and solutions according to best practice frameworks and methodologies.
• Work closely with the Head of Advice Technology and relevant stakeholders to support the formulation and implementation of the digital advice strategy. Make appropriate recommendations in line with Rest’s advice principles and standards as well as IT architecture principles where relevant.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage CEO/COO schedule and agenda, identifying priorities and deadlines and finding solutions to maximise efficiency and time. 
• CEO/COO diary and inbox management, including ad hoc errands as required 
• Set up meeting rooms, arranging for technology, equipment and catering to be provided. 
• Minute taking for domestic and global meetings, preparing action items, and distributing materials to meeting attendees 
• Assist in the preparation and circulation of agendas, presentations and papers for Board and Committee member meetings 
• International and domestic travel and itinerary planning for CEO/COO and Executives 
• Organise and coordinate company and social events, including venue, and catering 

• Be the point of contact for and liaise with building management to coordinate office and building related facilities  
• Build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders 
• Manage company vehicle bookings, tracking employee use and maintenance requirements 
• Preparation of corporate documentation such as memos, letters and invoices 
• Coordinate with Marketing Partner to support communications across company social media accounts 
• Assist with administrative tasks associated with the onboarding and offboarding of employees 
• Create and maintain company distribution lists and update as workforce changes 
• Office supplies ordering and general office management/coordination responsibilities as and when needed (up to and including light tiding duties of meeting rooms and shared spaces).
