About the Job
This is a key role within the Advice Technology team. The Senior Advice Technology Consultant will lead and develop the Advice systems and related processes required to deliver advice online, over the phone and in person effectively and efficiently. Manage the development and delivery of core technology components (advice related where shared technology components) of the advice operating systems according to regulatory compliance, best practice and in line with business needs. Manage key advice vendor relationships and participate in forming Rest’s digital advice strategy, including making recommendations on emerging advice technologies that may assist in Rest achieving strategic objectives for our members.
Responsible for providing technical expertise for all advice systems, including:
- Primarily managing the Midwinter AdviceOS system including Rest’s custom digital solution.
- Documenting functional requirements and technical specifications (where relevant) for advice solutions including templates used by advice team.
- Testing advice technology updates to ensure alignment with Rest advice processes and procedures.
- Investigation and analysis of any issues relating to the advice technology solution.
- Managing and liaising with relevant internal stakeholders (and external vendors where needed) in relation to enhancements and issues with all other technology components of the advice solution.
- Defining, implementing and managing the change management and release management processes of Midwinter deliverables.
- Responsible for, in conjunction with the Head of Advice and Retirement Services and Senior Manager, Advice and Retirement Quality, ensuring compliance with ASIC guidelines on AFSL’s providing digital financial product advice (RG 255) and any other regulations to do with the provision of advice through technology and systems.
- Responsible (in conjunction with Head of Advice and Retirement Services and Senior Manager, Advice and Retirement Quality) for ensuring processes are developed and maintained for all technology services and solutions according to best practice frameworks and methodologies.
- Work closely with the Head of Advice Technology and relevant stakeholders to support the formulation and implementation of the digital advice strategy. Make appropriate recommendations in line with Rest’s advice principles and standards as well as IT architecture principles where relevant.
- Work with the relevant stakeholders to review broader Rest technology solutions as presented by projects and any impacts they might have on advice systems; make recommendations as needed to ensure advice systems align with Rest’s overall technology framework, policies, processes and principles.
- In conjunction with the Advice Manager, coach and guide Rest advisers in the use of advice systems to support efficiency and performance goals are achievable, including induction.
- Develop and maintain the relationship with key technology vendors, suppliers and service providers ensuring timely delivery of services including reviewing and making recommendations relating to contracts and proposals.
- Ensure business partnerships are collaborative to address the requirements and alignment to business goals.
