We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our high performing Finance team based in Sydney. This role is responsible for monthly journal entries, month-end accounting and working with treasury to update the cash forecast throughout the month. Assisting with quarterly and year end audit preparations, performing analytical review and other accounting duties as assigned. The ideal candidate would have excellent analytical skills and have strong working knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, schedules and account reconciliations for month-end closing in accordance with corporate deadlines
- Analyse and research monthly trend analysis, balance sheet and income statement account fluctuations and assist with providing explanations for significant or unusual changes in balances
- Participate in the preparation and review of monthly reports/analyses to Management
- Prepare monthly BAS and PAYG
- Review employee expenses and process payments
- Vendor invoices payment and recording
- Prepare and analyse key metrics for the Cash Forecasting process on a weekly basis
- Manage annual external audit complying to GAAP requirements
- Perform work to maintain Internal Audit/SOX compliance
- Complete local statutory compliance requirements
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
