About the Role (Your Why)  

Datacom operations are seeking an Operations Centre Engineer whose role is to monitor systems including Windows, UNIX, Database, Cloud and backups in real-time on a 24x7x365 rotational basis and able to troubleshoot/triage/resolve events or escalating to specialist’s teams for resolution. You will receive a standby allowance for when offshift and when called in to cover, all hours are considered overtime. There is a shift allowance of 12.5% on all working hours too so that standard pay is as uniform as possible, regardless of if you are day or night shift.

It is essentially just above an entry-level role, so don't let the title scare you off! We do still need people with IT experience - the role is perfect for those who have done service desk or desktop engineering work - but note that this is still an associate level position. It is seen as a transitionary role and a great stepping stone to get into higher level IT roles, as has happened with many of our staff since the teams' inception 4 years ago. After working in this role, you should be able to handle the business critical tasks and changes while you have time to focus on any certifications you are interested in. You can really showcase your skills ihere and be involved with the technologies that you want to be involved with, initially at a lower level but you can steadily increase your utilisation of other, higher technologies as you grow and develop.

This role requires Australian Citizenship and you must be able to obtain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance and is available across most of our AU offices except for WA due to the time difference being difficult to roster; Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Adelaide are all places we have a Datacom offices where you can work from! Note that the majority of the work will be from home though and you may be in the office as little as once per month!

This role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of SICE's proprietary software for the assigned project by:

• Writing and reviewing software engineering documentation (specifications, design, test plans, manuals…). 
• Administrating and maintaining the test environments for the SCADA. 
• SCADA Software deployments and database distribution in all test environments and integration with various systems, including PMCS (Plant Monitoring and Control System), and TMCS (Traffic Management and Control System).

The Purpose

The primary purpose of the position is to be part of a dynamic team that is responsible to implement, automate, support and maintain all environments that are expected to operate on a 24x7 basis.

Performing and coordinating the implementation, ongoing engineering and maintenance/upgrading of a multi-platform environment with strong focus on Linux (Red Hat), VMware ESXi, Databases (Oracle SQL), SAN Storage (NFS) and various network services in a hybrid cloud environment.

The role reports directly to the Head of Reliability and Infrastructure and/or delegates. They will work and collaborate closely with the engineers within the team and other business units within the division. The role also includes responsibilities to assist with conducting technical reviews for new and ongoing tactical and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure SLA, SLE and SLO are met in a 24x7 environment. Required participation to an on-call roster
• Manage, maintain Red Hat Linux and Red Hat Ansible and Satellite Servers
• Operating System hardening based on recommendation by the Centre for Internet Security (CIS)
• Develop scripts, Ansible playbook ( Bash or Python ) and API calls for automating system administration and other repeatable tasks
• Manage and maintain network services such as Mail, DNS, NTP, Firewalld and F5 Load Balancer
• Generate system health related reports, manage and maintain monitoring, alerting and reporting systems such as Splunk, Dynatrace and Wazuh
• Deploy, configure, troubleshoot and staying up to date with licensing, subscriptions, versions and features and making sure all are compliant
• Implement security best practice, perform regular audits, patches and updates
• Monitor performance and identify bottleneck and optimise system resources such as disk utilisations
• Diagnose and resolve issues not limited to hardware, network to application level
• Ensure robust data integrity protection and availability with filesystem snapshot (such as LVM and VM snapshot) log shipping, replication and backup and recovery strategies
• Understand the principle of secure authentication, access control and multi factor authorisation as well as encryption technologies used in protocols such TLS and HTTPS and certificates.
• Complete all role requirements relating to development, implementation and maintenance of IT systems in accordance with the AP+’s information security policies and procedures as directed by the Head of Reliability and Infrastructure and/or delegates.

You will possess excellent knowledge of iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows 10 operating systems. Along with good working knowledge of networking and TCP/IP, AD, DHP, DNS and Enterprise applications. MobileIron, Google admin, VMware WS1 (SEG, UAG, ENS) and/ or Microsoft Intune administration skills would be a huge advantage. About the Role

The Endpoint Engineering team assists companies by supporting their environments day to day and recommending best practises to follow and implement. The team designs, builds, supports, and continuously improves end user solutions end to end, enabling our customers to transform their business and modernise their end user experience. What you will do

As a SOE Engineer, you will be responsible, but not limited to:

• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including SCCM and Intune
• Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory – Group Policy Management
• Strong Scripting ability (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch)
• Experience with Windows 10 task sequencing and end point configuration

About the Role, and Why it is a GREAT Step for You!

Datacom operations are seeking an Operations Centre Engineer whose role is to monitor systems including Windows, UNIX, Database, Cloud and backups in real-time on a 24x7x365 rotational basis and able to troubleshoot/triage/resolve events or escalating to specialist’s teams for resolution. You will receive a standby allowance for when offshift and when called in to cover, all hours are considered overtime. There is a shift allowance of 12.5% on all working hours too so that standard pay is as uniform as possible, regardless of if you are day or night shift.

It is essentially just above an entry-level role, so don't let the title scare you off! We do still need people with IT experience - the role is perfect for those who have done service desk or desktop engineering work - but note that this is still an associate level position. It is seen as a transitionary role and a great stepping stone to get into higher level IT roles, as has happened with many of our staff since the teams' inception 4 years ago. After working in this role, you should be able to handle the business critical tasks and changes while you have time to focus on any certifications you are interested in. You can really showcase your skills ihere and be involved with the technologies that you want to be involved with, initially at a lower level but you can steadily increase your utilisation of other, higher technologies as you grow and develop.

Overview of Position

Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and improvements of a wide range of electrical systems, equipment and instruments within the plant and managing the integrity of the Instrument, PCS, HMI, and PLC control systems.

Key Accountabilities

? Manage the plant instrument systems, including hardware, software, and communication systems.
? Develop and implement electrical systems and make adjustments or improvements to electrical systems/instruments and control equipment/system.

We are currently seeking an RPEQ Geotechnical Engineer to join our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture.  Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of three open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets. Reporting to the Strategic Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for the professional delivery of high quality geotechnical and geological services.  You will have the ability to apply rock mechanics principles to mine design, planning, pit optimisation and mine infrastructure development.  Duties will include: Determine strategy on the collection and collation of geotechnical / geological information relevant to the mining process Contribute to and implement standards and procedures in respect to slope/ground/ monitoring/control and mine infrastructure Implement monitoring regimes in respect to dumping, surface run-off and groundwater flows, and slope/ground monitoring Conduct geotechnical inspections of pit highwalls, dumps and other relevant structures Liaise with relevant production personnel to ensure effective support is provided in terms of geotechnical engineering needs (i.e. standoffs and hazard alerts) Provide information and advice to mine planning processes to meet production and quality targets. Advise and assist engineers with recommendations on geotechnical issues regarding mine design/planning and operations as requested Manage relevant use of external consultants for peer review and outside expertise where required Develop and monitor safe work practices for work on or around slopes Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety and Health Management System Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements The lifestyle: This position is offered on an 8/6 roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle (from Brisbane).  Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
