The Opportunity 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HV Power Lead to join our team in Adelaide, working on a large, high-profile Defence project of national significance.

This is a key role in the business and a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next big step in their career with a global market leader, working with a very talented team of high performing engineers through an exciting growth phase for our business.

You will be responsible for leading a team of electrical engineers in producing technical work packages and documentation in accordance with the clients’ requirements and respective design standards. You will manage, control, and coordinate the programme of design works to time, scope and budget, ensuring all safety, quality, regulatory and environmental requirements are met. Part of the role is to develop the engineers competence in areas of design and regulatory requirements that are new to the Defence industry in Australia.

Who are you?

To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience of leading teams

  • Professional experience in design of AC Power substations.

  • Ability to conduct technical checking and verification of design packages

  • Prior experience of Defence projects (preferred)

  • Working knowledge of AS/NZS and Defence electrical design standards and practices.

  • Working knowledge of electrical design software: ETAP, CYMCAP, PowerCad or similar.

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar to allow eligibility for membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia in the category of Chartered Professional Engineer.

  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to resolve complex technical and operational problems and issues.

  • Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to achieve agreed targets and timelines using effective teamwork and delegation.
