SICE ANZ is currently embarking on exciting growth and we have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer to join our SCADA Software team in Sydney.
This role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of SICE's proprietary software for the assigned project by:
- Writing and reviewing software engineering documentation (specifications, design, test plans, manuals…).
- Administrating and maintaining the test environments for the SCADA.
- SCADA Software deployments and database distribution in all test environments and integration with various systems, including PMCS (Plant Monitoring and Control System), and TMCS (Traffic Management and Control System).
- Testing, diagnosing and fixing errors and faults in the software within established testing protocols, guidelines, and quality standards to ensure the system performs according to the specifications.
- Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures, and methods.
- Liaising with the team in Spain on resolving issues related to the SCADA.
- Participating in the testing and commissioning activities of the system before going into operation.
- Configuration of the SCADA as part of the software implementation process of the project
- Liaising with suppliers and identifying firmware issues that can affect hardware integration with the SCADA.
- Liaising with the client for resolving queries, providing assistance and requesting information needed for the SCADA.
The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in software engineering or similar roles
- Knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
- PLC/SCADA architecture knowledge
- MS Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good time management and organisation skills
- Problem solving ability and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively, as part of a team as well as autonomously in an efficient manner
