The Cloud Security & DevOps Engineer role is responsible for acting as an AWS platform subject matter expert within the Rest Engineering team.

You will be embedded in all AWS platform related projects to design, implement and support cloud architecture needed to deliver business goals. The Cloud & DevOps Engineer will make sure all platform architecture is designed with DR, BCP and high availability in mind and will own the execution of our annual DR testing schedule.

The Cloud Security & DevOps Engineer will also provide oversight, guidance, and support to other technical teams within Rest, data, and engineering to manage their platforms, CI/CD pipelines and assist in the management and oversight of our chosen vendors with respect to AWS.

Cloud Security Focus:

The Cloud Security & DevOps Engineer will tackle some challenging and diverse security remediation projects. The role involves extensive work in AWS, designing and reviewing complex architectures, and implementing advanced security measures. You will the chance to work on anything from standard AWS services to more unconventional setups.

Experience with cloud services, particularly AWS, and your ability to handle multifaceted security challenges would be invaluable. A significant part of the job also involves responding to dynamic security situations. This includes risk assessments of different architectures and managing responses to security incidents, security vulnerabilities using various tools (CNAAP / SEIM). We will be integrating Cloud Posture Management into our pipeline, so insights on automating responses and maintaining these tools would greatly benefit the team.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Develop and standardise the usage of automation to provision and manage cloud resources within the CI/CD pipeline, using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, scripting, or other tools.
• Work alongside Solution Architects and other technical stakeholders to design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions, using native AWS services (S3, ECS, EC2, RDS, Dynamo, etc.).
• Review and enforce practices from our vendor DevOps resources to develop infrastructure as code using tools like AWS CloudFormation or CDK to automate resource provisioning.
• Review our current CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and updates to AWS resources. Work with platform teams to define and implement best practices in our CI/CD pipelines for each platform (API and Digital) to define and create reusable components.
• Define and implement security best practices, including IAM roles, policies, permissions to ensure secure access to AWS resources.
• Analyse monitoring data to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Own the BCP and DR capabilities within the AWS domain and work collaboratively with the business and vendors to schedule and conduct annual DR tests for all AWS based infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues related to AWS/Azure infrastructure, networking, and applications. Provide technical support to development teams and stakeholders, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
• Leading and mentoring other engineers with your laser focus on automation, cloud, and DevOps engineering techniques, to design and implement secure, simple, and impactful solutions

Cloud Security Focus:

• Identify and resolve any security related errors in AWS.
• Identify and correct security misconfigurations in AWS accounts.
• Completing cloud security analysis to detect and respond to events; Perform log analysis to detect and respond to security events.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Delivery – Manage projects from initiation through to closure, to ensure that projects are appropriately structured to achieve the maximum chance of success (time, budget, scope, quality).  Ensure efficient and timely monitoring and reporting to required stakeholders.

• Financial Management – Manage the preparation of project cost estimates for gating submission/funding approval, and subsequently manage and report project delivery against agreed costs, to; maximise operational efficiency, optimise the cost / benefits of resource mix, forecast and manage the cost impacts of scope change.
   
• Benefit Management –Monitor benefits against what was predicted in the business case and ensure all participants are informed and involved throughout the change programme. Awareness of dependences between the project and its benefits and actively managing these in liaison with the impacted REST business units.
   
• Stakeholder management – Engage, inform and negotiate with regulatory change stakeholders, particularly the sponsor, business owner, impacted Rest business units, vendors and parties responsible for the services after project completion, to identify, manage and monitor compliance with reform obligations.

The Information Security Cloud Analyst is responsible for safeguarding Rest’s cloud-based systems encompassing a broad range of activities including evaluating and mitigating risks, formulating cloud-specific security strategies, continuously watching for cyber threats, ensuring regulatory compliance, and responding to security incidents.

We are looking for a Head of Office of the FAR to join the team at Rest. Providing the day to day management of the FAR Office, you will maintain the FAR framework including operating procedures and provide guidance to Accountable Persons and the business on governance and accountability.

Reporting to the General Manager, Trustee Governance, and Company Secretary, you will be part of the team  responsible for secretariat, governance and accountability across Rest.

This role is critical in driving the execution of accountability across the organisation including implementing and operationalising the FAR regime.  It will be the subject matter expert on accountability and provide commercially pragmatic advice, effectively negotiate with and influences senor stakeholders and drive the evolution and maturing of accountability, and the implementation of FAR across the organisation.

As the BCM stream lead for the CPS230 program of work your primary accountability is to document the business continuity plans for Rest’s critical business processes consistent with the Rest BCP policy and framework. The BCP are to be documented in close consultation with the business and in alignment with information security and disaster recovery protocols. Supporting the Investment Group - your prior expertise within this field would be highly regarded.

Reporting to the Practice Delivery Manager Project Management, the Project Manager is responsible for working with Project stakeholders within Investment Serivces and Transformation Team and the Investment Team to deliver successful Project outcomes by initiating, planning, leading and managing projects to deliver business solutions. The role requires monitoring and regular reporting on Project progress in line with Project Management Framework.

• Manage material Investments requirements by overseeing the governance and management of medium-large scale Investment capability initiatives as approved by the Managed Investment Committee (MIC).
• Delivery – Manage projects from initiation through to closure, to ensure that projects are appropriately structured to achieve the maximum chance of success (time, budget, scope, quality).  Ensure efficient and timely monitoring and reporting to required stakeholders.
• Financial Management – Manage the preparation of project cost estimates for gating submission/funding approval, and subsequently manage and report project delivery against agreed costs, to; maximise operational efficiency, optimise the cost / benefits of resource mix, forecast and manage the cost impacts of scope change.
   
• Benefit Management –Monitor benefits against what was predicted in the business case and ensure all participants are informed and involved throughout the change programme. Awareness of dependences between the project and its benefits and actively managing these in liaison with the impacted REST business units.
   
• Stakeholder management – Engage, inform and negotiate with regulatory change stakeholders, particularly the sponsor, business owner, impacted Rest business units, vendors and parties responsible for the services after project completion, to identify, manage and monitor compliance with reform obligations.
   
• Project Governance – Adherence to Rest delivery methodology and governance framework to ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of their role and that the required decision making and escalation processes are in place to help achieve the required outcomes.
   
• Partner and vendor management – Manage vendors to deliver solutions for the project to ensure adherence to schedule, quality outcomes, cost effectiveness, appropriate risk management and seamless integration with other project delivery streams, including:

• Define (in consultation with the legal team where appropriate) the commercial framework/terms;
• Monitor and report progress and performance against agreed deliverables and quality and performance expectations;
• Manage contractual performance and quality, ensuring program requirements are met effectively/efficiently and problems are managed and escalated when required.
   

• Risk and Issue Management – Effectively manage risks and issues by identifying and documenting risks and issues to projects and developing effective mitigation/management strategies according to Rest risk framework by:

• Leading and managing the identification of risks and impacts associated with project delivery.
• Managing and leading the development of risk mitigation plans
• Facilitating informed risk management decisions by reporting and communicating risk assessments and plans to the necessary stakeholders
• Direct the identification, monitoring, reporting and escalation of issues and/or problems associated project delivery, including challenging and influencing stakeholders as required to enable the achievement of project deliverables and benefits.
   

• Lead, mentor and guide project team members to:

• Ensure that resources are optimally utilised.
• Build capability across Rest on methods, techniques, and approaches to project management

About the Job

The Middle Office function is maturing from a traditional middle to back office function to provide improved decision support, performance reporting, technical expertise in due diligence, and centralised functions performed within the Front Office Investment Teams.

As part of this journey, the Middle Office function is specialising between the Listed Assets (Equities, Fixed Income, Overlays) and Unlisted Assets (Property, Infrastructure, PE and Direct Debt). In the Unlisted Asset space, to further develop enhanced middle office services to support a growing portfolio of Unlisted Assets, we require Robust ‘end-to-end’ transaction processing and reporting capabilities.

This role will be responsible for transaction review, instruction and reporting for the Unlisted Assets. In addition, the role will develop the accounting platform that will support the growth in the Unlisted Assets.

Business as usual will include Operations: ensuring timeliness of processing payments, preparing & uploading custodian instructions, and acknowledging receipt of funds. As we strive to work as a small cross-functional and dynamic team, the Analyst, Unlisted Middle Office is required to consider the technical consequences of Unlisted Investment transactions for Custody, Accounting, Legal, Tax, Performance and act as the first point of call prior to corroborating with the wider Shared Services group

Key Responsibilities Include:

The Analyst, Unlisted Middle Office will support Rest’s Unlisted Middle Office function.

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities includes:

Operations (Unlisted)

• Preparing end to end instructions for unlisted transactions (cashflows, valuations etc) to:
  • Custodian – Accounting, Unit Pricing & Tax
  • Treasury – Cash Management
  • Overlay – FX Hedging
  • Legal
• Recording transactions in the internal reporting systems
• Ensuring accounting and valuations comply within the Valuation and Unit Pricing Policies
• Reviewing investment management and performance fees for accuracy
• New deal/investment setup both internally and with the Custodian
• Primary point of contact for Unlisted Assets with:
  • The Custodian
  • Rest Investment Team (operations and unit pricing)
  • The Investment’s Finance Teams
• Preparing and maintaining Investment bibles, procedures and model documentation
• Preparing and maintaining Fee Disclosure for SRF705 & RG97 Reporting

Secondary Accountabilities and Responsibilities includes:

Change and Project Management

• Initiate, manage and deliver on change projects improving the Unlisted Middle Office service to the portfolio managers and organisation
  • Review, document and analyse current processes, systems and policies with the purpose of delivering change benefits
  • Improve process, interactions and flows of information within the business and to REST, the custodian and the administrator
  • Analyse and develop system solutions to improve process efficiency, data integrity and business intelligence reporting
• Assist the Business Solution Manager with system implementations for Unlisted Assets
  • Data validation and input
  • Process documentation
  • Ad-hoc tasks
