About the Job

As the BCM stream lead for the CPS230 program of work your primary accountability is to document the business continuity plans for Rest’s critical business processes consistent with the Rest BCP policy and framework. The BCP are to be documented in close consultation with the business and in alignment with information security and disaster recovery protocols. You will also be accountable for designing and implementing the future operating model for BCM across the business consistent with the requirements of CPS230 and the associated operational risk management framework.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include

  • Work as a key member of the CPS230 program helix leadership team to understand all aspects of the new CPS230 regime. This includes:
    • Design critical business process BCP template and document BCPs for all critical business processes
    • Define the criteria for the determination of maximum allowable outage for each critical business process and facilitate discussion with the Board to agree settings.
    • Design and develop future operating model for critical process BCM, including testing regime, third party engagement and detailed design of scenarios. This should also include the integration of lower level business unit BCPs.
    • Create implementation plan for new CPS230 aligned operating model
  • Whole-of-Business Integration: Champion the incorporation of business continuity principles across all business units, fostering a culture of resilience and preparedness. Collaborate with department heads to identify critical processes, dependencies, and key personnel, ensuring comprehensive coverage within the business continuity framework.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of business continuity and resilience initiatives.
    • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the program's performance against set targets.
  • Collaborate with process owners to integrate resilience measures into day-to-day operations.
    • Oversee and support the implementation of business continuity plans, ensuring they are effectively integrated into day-to-day operations.
  • Training and Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees, outsourced partners, and stakeholders on business continuity and crisis management protocols. Foster a proactive and responsive culture that places a high value on resilience.
  • Coaching and Capacity Building: Coach and mentor managers at various levels to enhance their understanding of business continuity principles. Build organizational capacity by fostering a culture of resilience through targeted coaching sessions and workshops.
  • Continuous Improvement: Establish performance metrics and KPIs to measure the efficacy of business continuity initiatives. Lead continuous improvement efforts based on lessons learned, industry best practices, and feedback from testing exercises.
  • Plan and coordinate large-scale business continuity exercises, involving key stakeholders from different business units. Lead meetings to disseminate critical information, discuss strategic planning, and gather feedback on business continuity initiatives. Evaluate the outcomes of exercises, identify areas for improvement, and update plans accordingly.
  • The ideal candidate for the role of Business Continuity Manager Lead in a Superannuation environment should possess a relevant tertiary qualification and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:
