BENCH COFFEE CO., a boutique specialty coffee shop and roastery located in the dynamic suburb of Brunswick, Melbourne, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cafe Manager. Position Overview: As the Cafe Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of service and operational efficiency within our café. Your role will encompass comprehensive management of daily operations, staff leadership, and customer engagement, all while maintaining the exceptional quality and reputation BENCH COFFEE CO. is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operational Management: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of café operations, including staff supervision, inventory management, and service delivery, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Staff Leadership: Lead, train, and inspire a team of baristas and support staff, fostering a positive and productive environment. Manage scheduling, performance, and professional development.
• Quality Control: Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality coffee and beverages, adhering to our established protocols and maintaining our reputation for excellence.
• Financial Oversight: Manage financial processes including cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation, and budget management. Handle supplier orders, negotiate terms, and monitor stock levels to optimize cost-efficiency.
• Customer Relations: Address and resolve customer inquiries and feedback promptly to ensure a superior customer experience. Uphold high standards of service and address any issues that arise with professionalism.
• Compliance and Standards: Maintain rigorous health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• A minimum of two years of managerial experience in a café or similar establishment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
• Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English, crucial for interacting with both customers and staff.
• Flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends, to accommodate the demands of a busy café environment.
Qualifications:
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Management are highly regarded.
• Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage service is essential.
Remuneration:
• Job Type: Full-time
• Salary: $72,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
