The Manager, Infrastructure Operations is responsible for leading and managing the Technology Operations & Services teams to ensure the effective delivery, support, and maintenance of business and technical services for applications and infrastructure.

This role encompasses overseeing critical infrastructure systems from networking to both on-premises and cloud-based computing. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on background in technology operations and be experienced in managing and implementing complex IT environments. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and manage the Technology Operations and Services teams, focusing on performance management, staff development, and capability planning.
• Operational Oversight:
  • Oversee the IT operational environment for all systems, ensuring adherence to agreed service levels and key performance indicators.
• Strategic Planning & Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to leverage benefits from contemporary technology services and practices.
  • Develop and maintain the Leidos Infrastructure Plan and roadmap as part of the organisation's Strategic IT Plan.
• Project & Change Management:
  • Lead and oversee large-scale IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed within agreed timeframes and budgets, and manage the implementation of infrastructure changes to minimise service interruptions and maximise business benefits
• Policy & Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to approved policies, processes, and guidelines, and maintain compliance with certified standards.
  • Act as the Incident Controller for priority incidents, making rapid decisions to restore services and implement workarounds
• Supplier & Contract Management:
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of contracts for hardware, software, and associated services.
• Advisory & Reporting:
  • Provide high-level strategic and operational advice to the CIO, Leidos Management Team, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Report on infrastructure performance, capacity, and improvements, and make recommendations for ongoing enhancements.

Your New Role

We have an opportunity to support a multi-year program to the Australian Defence Force working as a Relationship Manager/Process Analyst.

The role primarily focuses on working with the customer, managing relationships and mapping out their processes. A love for working onsite, embedded with the customer is key to success in this role. There is no opportunity to work remotely.

Duties – What you’ll be doing

• Define the knowledge management strategy for our knowledge base and maintain high quality, up-to-date, and searchable content for audiences of varying skill level
• Promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing through defining, supporting and encouraging the use of knowledge to employees of all skill levels and roles
• Controlling the accessibility and flow of knowledge within the organization and to external parties
• Helping capture new knowledge with the usage of a knowledge base
• Monitor progress by leveraging analytics to assess the impact, engagement, functionality and effectiveness of knowledge management strategy
• Providing relevant coaching, training and support to champion a knowledge management culture

Your New Role

As the Organisational Change Manager you will be responsible for leading the Organisational Change Management (OCM) capability as part of the Leidos project leadership team delivering an enterprise Health Knowledge Management (HKM) System for Defence.  You will be responsible for driving the OCM outcomes and ensuring the delivery of change and communication strategies and plans, together with associated risk and impact assessments.  The OCM Manager will work in collaboration across the project team and with the strategic OCM partner to successfully coordinate and implement change management activities.

A Day In Life

• Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders
• Provide leadership to the OCM team
• Support the Change Impact Assessment process to assess the impact of change, including people, process, technology and systems to determine requirements from current to future state on the business and define how these impacts will be managed
• Coordinate the Business Readiness activities and ensure the schedule is aligned to deliver targeted communication and engagement activities
• Oversee the document deliverables for OCM and ensure consistency and best practice for the approach and process to change management; coordinate the workflow of the key strategic OCM partner
• Utilise the expertise of our partners and advisers to bring in new ideas (automation or tools) to optimise the organisational change management process and clinical change activities
• Provide oversight to the schedule and reporting of OCM Activities.

The Client Services Manager manages the Service Desk and End User Services teams across Melbourne and Canberra to ensure Corporate IT services and support are provided to Leidos Australia staff. 

You will also be required to work closely with local and global CIO Services and Corporate Information Security (CIS) teams to deliver a consistently high level of service, and liaise with local business leadership to understand and champion specific business requirements as part of local and global project implementations.

Additional components of the role:

• Manage a broader team of End User Services (EUS) support staff, Service Desk staff and ITAM staff, allocate resources based on business requirements;
• Perform incident, problem and change management, project implementation and BAU activities as required;
• Keep track of team activities and report progress to management;
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiency and meet business demands;
• Contribute to solving complex technical problems and ensure the completion of programs and projects relevant to both the Service Desk and EUS;
• Oversee procurement of hardware and software and maintain tracking of system wide software;
• Oversee minor asset and workstation asset database management;
• Manage software and hardware budgets;
• Develop and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and customers;
• Ensure system documentation and performance levels are maintained at all times, and
• Some interstate travel may be required

As part of a small team you will be responsible for managing the life-cycle of all Problems. Objectives are to prevent incidents from happening and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented. You will also maintain information about known errors and workarounds.

• Provide ITIL Problem Management services to the program whilst working towards best practice approaches to Problem Management and sharing knowledge across the Problem Management team;
• Provide on time, meaningful and high quality reports with detailed analysis targeted at the right audience;
• Participate in the Continual Improvement program across relevant process areas;
• Provide input to process changes across the multi-vendor environment, including delivery of ongoing training and development activites;
• Ensure adherence to Governance structures for all new process design and existing process change;
• Review all process improvement suggestions, including analysis of operational impact on customer, suppliers and internal delivery, and provide recommendation of solutions.
