With continued sustainable growth, specifically within our Ground & Underground Engineering Practice, we are delighted to share that we have an exciting opening within this Practice for a Senior Civil / Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Newcastle region.
Some of the duties your role will include:
- Understands and complies with industry standards, Australian standards and conventions in technical documentation. Demonstrates this understanding in design outputs and engineering advice or recommendations provided.
- Review Design Documentation for compliance against specifications, standards and scope of works and technical criteria.
- Conduct site inspections and design reviews
- Supervising and mentoring junior Engineers
- Scoping and managing geotechnical site investigations
- Participating construction phase supervision while complying with sustainability and safety requirements.
- Undertake geotechnical engineering design and analysis on infrastructure projects, demonstrating analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Produce geotechnical engineering calculations and outputs, using relevant software such as gINT, Geostudio and Plaxis.
- Conducts some geotechnical reports (desktop study / factual report / smaller project interpretive reports) independently to high quality level.
- Ability to review project deliverables.

As well as experience in a similar role in addition to below.
- Around 10 years professional experience in engineering consulting or construction, specialising in geotechnical or civil/earthworks engineering on large infrastructure projects.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally (sub-contractors, clients).
- Team player who supports and contributes towards the success and technical development of our team
