About This Opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to innovative research developments within the scope of data management and data mining. This position will be jointly supported by ARC Discovery Project DP200103650 Making Spatiotemporal Data More Useful: An Entity Linking Approach and the Australian Research Council (ARC) Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Information Resilience (CIRES).

This position will be based in CIRES which provides additional opportunities to the successful candidate to work across multiple projects with industry and government partners, providing a wealth of experience in multi-disciplinary teams, research planning, and industry and public sector dynamics. As a research focused academic at level A the incumbent will be supported and guided by more senior academic research staff with the expectation of an increasing degree of autonomy over time.

This is a full-time fixed-term position from 15th February 2024 – 14th February 2026 at Academic level A. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $75,808.68 - $100,926.59 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $88,696.16 - $118,084.11 annually.?As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

About You ?
Completion or near completion of a PhD in Computer Science in the area of Data Management, Data Mining, or Data Science, preferably with experience in multi-modality data including but not limited to spatiotemporal data.
Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience in developing machine learning and deep learning methods, preferably pre-training and self-supervised learning techniques applied to spatiotemporal data analysis
Knowledge of issues and challenges underpinning modern data science, especially spatiotemporal data management (e.g., data storage, data integration, spatiotemporal indexing, data mining,).
Experience in conducting research projects, demonstrating high-level written and oral communication skills.
Peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals or premiere conferences relevant to data mining or data science, e.g., SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, KDD, ICDM, AAAI, IJCAI, WWW, SIGIR, CIKM, CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS and ACM/IEEE transactions.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross-disciplinary research team.

ARIAM Hub is a collaboration between leading academic researchers and experts from the Australian robotics industry supported by the Australian Research Council to deliver research excellence in robotics for asset management. This position will be supervised by Dr Donald Dansereau, head of the Robotic Imaging Lab within the Australian Centre for Robotics (ACFR) at the University of Sydney. The ACFR is one of Australia’s leading robotics research groups, and the Robotic Imaging Lab is focused on endowing machines with new ways of seeing the world.

We are expanding our team and have multiple positions opening as part of ARIAM. We are currently seeking an ambitious and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake fundamental and applied research in novel computer vision approaches to high-fidelity drone-based 3D reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure. As part of the Australian Robotic Inspection and Management Research Hub (ARIAM), this position involves working closely with Hub Industry Partner Trendspek on their precision asset modelling and intelligence technology. As part of the research hub you will have opportunities to travel and collaborate with our partners across Australia.

Our current research will focus on combining novel scene representations and computational imaging approaches to enable greater performance in modelling visually challenging scenes from drone-based imagery. Depending on interest and ability there is also scope to develop novel imaging technologies to further improve performance.

This robotic vision-focused position will advance the 3D reconstruction technology required for modelling complex 3D infrastructure. Key challenges include complex appearance due to reflective and transparent surfaces, complex geometries, and dense occlusion from vegetation.

Depending on ability and interest, candidate approaches can include combining representations and visual processing from the graphics and vision communities, including inverse rendering and novel visual and geometric representations, and novel computational imaging devices and algorithms. This project will offer dramatic improvements in sensing robustness and performance, and geometric and textural accuracy in drone-based 3D asset inspection.

In this role you will:

? work closely with a team of project academics, engineers, and PhD students
? develop and characterise novel robotic vision representations, algorithms and/or imaging technologies
? contribute to the ARIAM Hub’s demonstrator program that will showcase your research and that of other Hub projects

In this position, you will play an important role into generating the best laboratory evidence to ultimately drive clinical translation of results for one of the most difficult-to-treat types of childhood cancer, called sarcoma. The position will include work on in vivo sarcoma patient-derived xenograft models, including tumour implantation, in vivo therapy experiments, post-treatment tumour analysis (eg immunohistochemistry, western blot), and survival/growth analysis. We have a range of promising drugs lined up for in vivo testing, and a very real possibility that if these drugs continue to perform well in our experiments, accelerate clinical translation. About This Opportunity
We are seeking an inspired and talented postdoctoral researcher in molecular immunology to join our team. The project will explore the molecular basis of immunity to disease, inter-individual immune variation, and vaccine responsiveness using samples from human experimental infection models or vaccination. About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead a project to develop a rationally-designed vaccine against malaria.

By taking advantage of recent advances in genomic sequencing, proteomics, transcriptional profiling, and molecular immunology, we have discovered unique targets of T cell responses or antibody responses against malaria. This NIH-funded project will test these antigens as vaccine candidates by engineering novel vaccine platforms to enhance T cell responses and assessing immunogenicity, protective capacity and biological function in pre-clinical models of malaria. By establishing proof-of-concept for rational vaccine design from genomic data, this project is expected to advance the development of an effective vaccine against malaria with implications for other challenging public health threats.

Nine Digital is Seeking an Associate Digital Producer to join the 9Honey team and support with breaking news, generating original story ideas, research, writing, interviewing and curating content for the 9Honey website. Additionally, you will be required to source images, video and other attributes needed for on site and in social media. 

Please note shift work and weekend work may be required.

Day to day you will:

• Pitch original stories and be across breaking lifestyle, celebrity, style and parenting news 
• Write and produce six to seven lifestyle news stories a day
• Assist in the promotion of your stories, including via social media, TikTok and newsletters
• Source video and images for stories, using Photoshop to assist in image editing

Research Officer (Molecular Biology/Malaria Parasitology)

The Organisation
The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) within the Faculty of Medicine & Health is one of the largest teaching and research intensive Schools at UNSW. It is a vibrant School, a place of work for over 240 staff, more than 150 higher degree students, and many thousands of undergraduate students. As well as its location in the Wallace Wurth building the School is physically linked to the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre, which includes access to advanced imaging equipment through the Katharina Gaus Light Microscopy Facility as well as flow cytometry. SBMS also maintains close linkages with the Lowy Cancer Research Centre, the Kirby Institute, the Biological Sciences Building and Single Molecule Science.

The Baum lab (www.baumlab.com) within SBMS aims to translate fundamental discoveries in parasite biology into interventions that will aid the control and eventual eradication of malaria; the lab is passionate about fundamental discovery research, point-of-care diagnostics and the long-hoped for dream of an efficacious, easy to deploy malaria vaccine.

Why this role matters

The position will provide technical and research assistance to senior research staff in activities associated with various elements of research projects, including contribution and application of knowledge in the field of molecular biology, parasitology and computational biology within the School of Biomedical Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine & Health, UNSW Sydney.

Your skills and experience:

A university degree in biological, biomedical, biotechnological or computer-science or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training or experience.
Direct experience in advanced molecular biology techniques (including PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction and design of primers & preferably LAMP), advanced malaria parasitology experience (including in vitro culture of malaria parasites and their interaction with mosquitoes in a lab setting) and/or direct experience of computational approaches for protein structure design and analysis (including the coding of an application of AlphaFold or other related deep learning approaches to protein structure).
Knowledge of research protocols, experimental design and planning as involved in developing research projects and reporting against milestones.
Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including LabArchives or other alternative data storage systems.
Demonstrated superior interpersonal communication skills to initiate and maintain effective stakeholder relationships whilst exercising discretion and confidentiality.
Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.

The Team
Account Managers are critical members of the Client Services department. Client Services serves as an integral team across the organization, working to build and maintain strong, long term client relationships, through seamless Onboarding, Account Management, Product Support, and Managed Services Operations.

The Role
Account managers are responsible for the end-to-end client experience for the book of clients assigned to them. They are the ultimate owners of the client and responsible for their outcomes. They are both client experts and Enfusion experts to champion their client’s success at Enfusion. Account managers will work closely with client onboarding, product support and technology to deliver value-added solutions and a world-class experience for our clients.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct quarterly meetings with clients to obtain feedback on overall satisfaction
- Manage and maintain client profile details in a centralized CRM tool which includes AUM, strategy, assets traded, end-to-end functions utilized, key stakeholders and third-party relationships
- Proactively monitor client health via scorecards and develop remediation plans when necessary
- Ensure clients are successful in meeting their goals with Enfusion and are in a referenceable state
- Conduct training for clients on software and services to ensure best utilization
- Identify upsell opportunities for new account additions and services
- Assist and remediate contract and billing related queries
- Ensure client’s BAU activities are in good order and all commitments and deliverables are being met by maintaining and reviewing daily client dashboards and closely monitoring open issues
- Act as an escalation point and subject matter expert for any client issues ensuring accurate, organized and timely resolution
- Work closely with client onboarding, product support and technology teams to deliver cohesive solutions that follow industry and system best practices
- Provide consultation on workflows and identify potential opportunities to expand relationship

About the role

We’re searching for an experienced Senior Design Research Manager to define and implement the research strategy for our Teams & Education Supergroup. Research projects you’ll oversee directly tie to Canva’s company-wide goals, so increasing user understanding and identifying key product opportunities is of critical importance.  

Your responsibilities include leading a team of 7+ researchers. This role will require you to thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment, working with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales and everyone else in between. You have deep experience coaching and leading researchers and your communication skills empower you to inspire your teams to dream and achieve crazy big goals.

Your sphere of ownership includes:

• Prioritizing what research is happening across the entire Supergroup, including proactively identifying gaps in knowledge.
• Ensuring all research conducted across the Supergroup is high quality; helping elevate research findings into truly design-inspiring and business-impacting insights 
• Influencing product and business decisions at the founder and senior leadership level, sharing research insights and opportunities, and acting as the voice of the customer. 
• Driving deep understanding and empathy of our diverse users and their needs: users of Canva from kindy to the large Enterprises.

As a UX Research Coach, you’ll work closely with your researchers, unlocking their potential to maximize their own performance. • Build and manage a high-performing team of 7+ researchers. Support them through 1:1 coaching, including shaping research plans, providing constructive feedback, setting career goals, and formal reviews. 
• Develop research roadmaps for the Supergroup, aligned to product and business objectives, and be able to adjust these if/when priorities shift
• Act as a trusted, strategic partner to Supergroup Leads (Design, Product, Engineering, Data) through your team delivering research insights that lead to demonstrable business value. Work closely with Leads to apply research findings and implement them in their short-and long-term strategy. 
• Define the T&E research team’s identity, ways of working, and culture. Create a positive environment of belonging, trust, safety, and inclusion. 
• Working with Canva’s Head of Research and other leaders, contributing to the UX Research team’s overall strategy and goals. Bring your ideas and initiative to level up our collective craft and impact. 
• Creatively build a strong research culture within the Teams & Education Supergroup, including at the leadership level. For example, showcasing research insights in Supergroup-wide presentations and workshops with cross-functional teams and executive, etc. 
• Lead foundational research projects for the Supergroup (which may include leading teams of multiple researchers, vendors, etc.), setting the standard for the high quality of research we strive for. 

Experience you will have:

• The ideal candidate is a qualitative researcher with 8+ years of experience leading research studies: planning, recruiting, executing, analyzing, and activating. We expect to hear examples of how your research influenced product and design team decision-making.
• At least 2+ years of experience coaching researchers - you understand how to make an impact through empowering, growing, and motivating others.
• Experience working with leadership teams; influencing strategic decisions with this audience
• Experience as a Design Research Lead, prioritizing and planning research strategy across multiple projects and researchers. 
• Extremely strong communicator when sharing research insights and user needs, and opportunities/impact. Whether it’s during a workshop, presentation, or even a Slack message - you have an innate ability to rally a team together and inspire change. 
• Deep grasp of qualitative research methodologies. You can flex research plans creatively based on constraints and context, clearly communicating trade-offs to stakeholders. 
• You thrive in a fast-paced work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, and driving forward through ambiguity. You can juggle multiple priorities and handle change. 
• Deep experience closely collaborating with product teams (PM, Design, Engineering, Marketing, and more). You enjoy collaborating with stakeholders throughout projects, and consider bringing them along the journey to be an essential part of the process. 
• Experience helping People Who Do Research (e.g. designers and PMs) become better researchers. For example, providing feedback on research plans, interview technique, or final reports. 
• You always keep your ear to the ground for relevant insights happening across the organization, understanding the implications and opportunities, and bringing it back to your team.
• A track record for proactively identifying opportunities to fix problems - whether for users externally, or internally
