We are seeking dynamic an experienced Bid Manager to join our Sales team and play a key role in driving our business forward. About the role
Team Global Express (TGE) are seeking the support of a driven Bid Solutions Manager. This role will see you responsible for developing, managing and implementing the end-to-end bid writing and submission process. This will effectively support the national sales team in growing new and retaining existing business. The role provides leadership in the development of bid responses, to present consistently high-quality professional bid responses to the marketplace. Your role will also work periodically to develop and maintain customer communications, proposals, and presentations. Your ability to see the big picture, keen attention to detail and resilience will be vital to your success in the position.
What you’ll do
- Lead bid responses ensuring high quality, professional tender responses that are delivered on time, are customer focused and comply with TGE policies and address the customer specifications and objectives.
- Drive and co-ordinate the end-to-end bid process for the business; including bid procedures, reporting, documentation and governance.
- Monitoring of bid content and processes to ensure consistently high standard tender responses are presented to the marketplace. Support the performance of the Bid Team and contribute to written instructions and formal feedback to the sales team regarding the principles of responding to customer tenders and delivering bid responses that comply with all business requirements.
- Actively identify new business opportunities through company and government websites.
- Continue to maintain, develop and improve the sales resource and information library.
- Identify new information and trends in responding to bids and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure prompt registration and delivery of all Bids and ‘One Supplier Solutions’
- Produce superior and appropriate writing standards for customer communication.
- Support the development, delivery and monitoring of external customer communication related to Bids and broader sales development initiatives and presentations
What you’ll bring

Ideally you have come from the Transport industry though it’s not mandatory. If this resonates, this role could be for you! Your strengths lie in not only managing but coaching and inspiring a sales team. You'll bring a strong commitment to producing high-quality work and the ability to network across all levels of stakeholders both operationally and functionally. Along with this you have a desire to continually challenge the status quo looking for ways of working smarter not harder. Your exceptional attention to detail, motivation, enthusiasm, work ethic and listening skills will see you succeed in this role. We are open to expressions of interest from Melbourne or Sydney.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Excellent written skills and extensive experience in the development of tender responses.
- Proven project management, time management and project planning capabilities
- Strong interpersonal, networking and communications skills
- Ability to analyse, interpret and provide recommendations to address customer objectives and facilitate the resolution of issues in the development of bid responses
- Ability to gather, organise, interpret and collate data from multiple sources (across Business units and Divisions) and, work as part of a broader team.
- Have a sound business understanding, be commercial and risk aware
- Ability to liaise, influence, challenge effectively and build relationships at all levels
- Knowledge of communications and web development/design/maintenance, common computer programs and online web tools
- Knowledge of the logistics industry and latest industry trends is ideal but not mandatory
- Experience in working and managing approval processes and procedures for complex tender documentation
- Basic knowledge of formal contract terms and language
