About the role:

You will report directly to the Chief Science Officer and your insights and expertise will significantly influence the technical direction, design, and implementation of our Conversational AI product. You will collaborate with our CSO, CTO, CEO, ML Engineers, Product Managers, and talented software developers to build and integrate various AI technologies. You will have ownership in these areas of your work:

• Research, design, experiment with, and build high-accuracy ML models, focusing on surveying state-of-the-art publications on Autonomous agents. Find ways to reproduce cutting-edge innovations and build upon research findings to enhance our Conversational AI product.
• Apply advanced ML techniques to analyze complex datasets, extract meaningful insights, and develop predictive models to improve our LLM’s accuracy and performance.
• Devise and implement data augmentation techniques to improve the training and performance of our LLMs.
• Build rapid prototypes and proof of concepts to turn ideas into our product’s features and infrastructure.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, DL and ML, and propose ways to apply cutting-edge techniques to improve our LLMs, algorithms, and overall system performance.
• Design, organize, and analyze complex and large-scale datasets using tools from advanced statistics to generate insights that will help to guide engineering and business decisions.
• Work with the engineering teams to determine and prepare useful data sets for model training and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and design to design new product features.

• PhD or Master’s degree in science.
• Strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, database systems, software architecture, algorithms, and run-time analysis.
• Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics and algorithms.
• Nice to have: familiarity with deep learning-based NLP models such as BERT, OpenAI GPT-2/3, and other transformers.
• Relevant professional experience in Natural Language Understanding, Open Domain Question Answering, Text Classification, Information Retrieval, or Knowledge Extraction.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like Pytorch and relevant libraries.

News Editors are an integral part of the Nine News production team. We are looking for candidates that want to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced workplace, who can work well in both a team environment and autonomously. The role collaborates with producers and reporters to create high-calibre content across multiple news programs. News Editors are creative, have excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy. News is a 24/7 business and candidates must be available to work a 7 day rotating roster. This role will be based in the office full time. 

Day to day includes but won’t be limited to: 

• Editing material for Nine News broadcasts, including voice overs, grabs, overlay, and news packages as directed by the News Edit Shift Leader.
• Occasionally edit feature-style packages for various news and current affairs programs, including online content.

Your opportunity
 

We currently have a 12-month maximum term contract opportunity for an experienced Iteration Manager Business Analyst (IMBA) to join our Technology team to facilitate, coordinate and deliver programs including delivering on business case objectives, business analysis, team velocity, project communication & reporting and change management. This role will work closely with all business stakeholders and report to the Technology Delivery Domain and will cover some day to day Operations support and escalation for Motoring systems. 

This role will offer hybrid work arrangements with the flexibility to work from either our Sydney Olympic Park and/or Sydney CBD offices and from home.  This role will require the ability to work 24 x 7 to support the Roadside team as and when required by the business or operation team.

Specifically your key responsibilities will include:

• Manage project initiation, analysis, planning, control, variation, measurement, reporting and closure
• Create the foundations and platforms required for BA / Business Owner collaboration and delivery team estimations on sound User Story capture/requirements
• Define and maintain a continuous improvement philosophy for your domain which support both technology and business strategy to drive simplicity, efficiency and exceptional customer experience.
• Liaise closely with the product owners and business stakeholders to assist in their completing the necessary steps for each projects success
• Examine unknown factors which define business problems.  Perform system analyses on web services, software programs and applications. Integrate new systems and programs with business operations
• Resolve project escalated issues and project change management
• Prepare project documents whereby scope, objectives, risks, assumptions, resources level, roles and responsibilities, schedules and deliverables are identified and defined

About You

• Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent)
• 3-5 years of demonstrated Business Analysis experience in successfully delivering Software Applications and associated Business Process changes
• Demonstrated solid understanding of business needs and customer focus beyond the technical/technology aspects
• Demonstrated IM & Business Analyst Skills and practices in an Agile and Waterfall environment
• Highly effective vendor management and facilitation skills with experience working with offshore teams
• Ability to capture User Stories/requirements, agree acceptance criteria and manage ambiguity
• Demonstrated experience in Agile estimation and driving delivery according to estimations
• A willingness to get involved at a detailed level when required
• Ability to work effectively during periods of high demand and tight timeframes
• Experience in negotiation, conflict management and facilitating resolution
• Proven experience in effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels
• Highly developed estimation and project financial management skills
