Position Summary

The Senior Planning Manager is responsible for delivering a best-in-class planning product by blending the science of our planning tools with your media craft experience to drive the day-to-day connection planning across paid and non-paid channels ensuring required deliverables are achieved.

Job Responsibilities


Leads and develops all Creative Connections Recommendations and Connections Plans in collaboration with the trading and performance teams ensuring they deliver on the briefed business outcomes.
Incorporation of UM proprietary planning tools, such as Growth Accelerator, into the planning recommendations. 
Manages and leads planning outputs across all channels; working with strategy, trading and special business units. 
Supports the Planning Director and Group Director by managing day to day workflow;
Ensures team WIPs (Planning/Trading) are scheduled and actions allocated responsibilities post WIP.
Drives a collaborative approach with all UM departments including BUs to develop best in class media solutions. 
Ensures a strong relationship with all media partners to remain across key/upcoming opportunities and trends;
Builds strong relationships with media and performance leads
Participates in agency and group Planning initiatives ensuring best practice.
Supports Planning Director in major client planning projects across client alignment – e.g. Screens Optimisation.
Oversees financial process alongside the Senior Trading Manager to ensure monthly invoicing is in-line with the plan.
Leads Planning recommendations (in collaboration with Senior Trading Managers) for day-to-day campaign optimisations to ensure delivery against business outcomes


 

Desired Skills & Experience


5+ years experience working across media planning and execution of all channels (offline skew) with experience in team management and strong understanding of the Australian media landscape.
Someone who remains up to date with all Australian and global market trends and has an educated point of view of the impact it has on their client’s business and/or approach to the planning craft
Effective communication and collaboration with the Client team to ensure recommendations are in-line with client expectations and deliver on briefed outcomes.
Has a clear demonstration of problem solving skills and comes solutions ready. 
Competent skills in creating best practice and market leading implementation planning responses, working in conjunction with the Planning Director. 
Ensuring that our clients are delivered future focused recommendations that take into consideration projected market trends.
Lives and breathes the Planning craft and has an inherit nature to continue learning and development within the craft
Exceptional presentation skills with more senior clients, media partners and internal UM and Mediabrands stakeholders. 
Has a positive portrayal of the Planning craft internally to build presence of the discipline. 
Develops strong relationships with clients (specifically the media and performance leads)Has had exposure to Google Analytics or DMP’s in current or former roles


 

Salary range between $95,000 & $105,000 including Superannuation.
