Alongside your industry experience in similar consulting roles, you’ll also have:

• Technical competency in chemical or mechanical engineering to apply creative solutions to complex problems across all infrastructure industries
• Delivery of safety management through technical proficiency or exposure to DNV Phast and SAFETI, or similar consequence effects software packages
• Workshop scribing through understanding of hazard identification and analysis methods (HAZID, HAZOP, CHAIR, FEMA, RAM, what if, fault & event tree etc…)
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk-based studies

The role may suit experienced individuals with a range of professional profiles; however, process safety knowledge is vital.  Relevant tertiary qualifications and consultancy experience in public and private interface across a range of different market sectors is sought after.

As the Project Director, you will be responsible for providing leadership and driving a high-performing, collaborative team culture to safely deliver highly specialised data centre development projects, including base build, fitout out and critical infrastructure expansion works within the Capital Works portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Capital Works and assisting the Head of Site Development and Chief of Engineering & Design, the Project Director will have extensive experience in the construction of data centres or similar facilities, including a strong understanding of mission critical infrastructure, with a proven ability to safely deliver projects, on time, on budget, and to high quality, while achieving business case objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide client-side oversight and direction to the project team, to achieve the end-to-end implementation of new data centre solutions, embedding a strong safety culture, and driving operational and business improvement initiatives.
• Lead and oversee development of pre-construction planning activities including design coordination, budgeting, scheduling and procurement, including the engagement and oversight of the Principal Contractor to undertake Early Contractor involvement processes 
• Undertake the role of Principal’s Representative for the building contracts, acting as day-to-day interface with construction-related consultants and contractors for decision-making and stakeholder communications to ensure effective contract management
• Development and execution of project strategy documents, including the project controls plan, procurement strategy, communications, change management, and risk management plans to align with company goals and objectives.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize project outcomes.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Prepare, write, and present regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Based in Brisbane and reporting direct to the Executive Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer, your experience and passion for driving a high performance health and safety outcomes in the mining sector will ensure your success in this challenging and rewarding corporate environment.

Key tasks and responsibilities:  

• In consultation with executive and site leadership, develop and lead the implementation of the health and safety culture and strategy for the organisation.  Key strategic focus areas include (but are not limited to) maturing and embedding the Company’s approach to:
