Based in Brisbane and reporting direct to the Executive Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer, your experience and passion for driving a high performance health and safety outcomes in the mining sector will ensure your success in this challenging and rewarding corporate environment.

Key tasks and responsibilities:  

• In consultation with executive and site leadership, develop and lead the implementation of the health and safety culture and strategy for the organisation.  Key strategic focus areas include (but are not limited to) maturing and embedding the Company’s approach to:
  • Occupational health and hygiene
  • Critical control management and processes
  • Safety behaviours
  • Mental health and wellbeing
• Lead the continuous improvement, provide assurance of and embed across the organisation, policies, standards, management systems and processes, effective critical controls and risk management, in alignment with industry best practice.  
• Provide expert advice, support and guidance on safety leadership, safety culture maturity, and behaviours
• High quality Executive management and Board reporting in a timely manner, with strategic insights and information to inform decision-making. Contribute to sustainability and other external corporate reporting as required.
• Provide exceptional standards of quality assurance and quality control across all data, incident management and investigation, and reporting
• Ensure regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions, and stay abreast of and communicate emerging industry trends, innovations and best practice to enhance business performance and outcomes.  Be well positioned to anticipate and manage complex issues, challenges and opportunities, ensuring integration with wider functional and business/operation strategies
• Assess, develop, lead where appropriate, coordinate and otherwise support the development and functional training needs of relevant personnel. 
• Drive effective knowledge sharing across the business and with site health and safety leadership and teams, to foster an engaged growth mindset which supports the Company values and vision.
• Support and coach executive and senior leadership to be effective safety leaders and to enable the executive to implement their own safety leadership commitments.
• Work collaboratively and effectively with other sustainability team members to maintain a cohesive team which champions and advocates each other’s work.

• Lead and mentor a team of dedicated Concierge staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional guest service.

Reporting to the Site Safety & Health Manager, the Safety Superintendent- Learning from Incidents (LFI) will coach and advise the line organisation in conducting comprehensive investigations of incidents.

The accountabilities and responsibilities for this role include:

• Provide governance over the LFI process on site to ensure adherence to industry and Anglo American requirements
• Ensure LFI process is integrated into other areas of the operation
• Facilitate investigations and support investigations facilitated by external parties
• Proactively communicate learnings from site investigations across all levels of the operation
• Support the implementation of LFI training programs to build site capabilities
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of investigation information into Isometrix
• Provide guidance on incident classification, including coaching of the line in selection of correct consequence, ratings, agency and mechanism

Due to significant growth, exciting wins and ongoing delivery success with our clients in our real estate sector we are looking for an energic, dynamic and ambitious Senior Cost Manager (Quantity Surveyor) with proven local delivery experience to join our Brisbane based team and assist our Health care and Hospital projects, reporting directly to our Queensland State Cost Management Director.

The ideal applicant with have a strong background in Quantity Surveying and preferably have worked within a professional consultancy before, but those with a background in other areas, such as experience working for main contractors are encouraged to apply.

As a Senior Cost Manager you will expected to work independently managing your own deliverables,  whilst delivering major projects in a team environment. You will strive to promote and maintain the highest of professional standards combined with supporting junior staff to grow and learn through sharing your knowledge and experience.
