The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Lyndhurst team in our Metalform business, a division of Lysaght, as a Business Development Manager. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects.
Our Metalform business focuses on producing steel products for structural support in constructions. In this strategic role, you will build strategic relationships with key industry contacts by bridging the gap between our technical processes and business operations. You will have the opportunities to work with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and contribute to the overall growth of the business.
With a specialist structural engineering knowledge, you will be able to understand the complexity of our steel manufacturing processes and translate them into business strategies. Success in this role will see you delivering our customers a premium service helping our business to increase sales and develop on-going repeat business.
Working Monday to Friday, this opportunity includes a competitive remuneration package including a laptop, mobile phone and a fully maintained company vehicle.
What Will You Do?
Using your expertise, you will:
- communicate strategy and plan: formulate and execute sales plans to stimulate interest in, increase knowledge of, build preference for, and generate demand for our products through the supply value chain
- manage the specifications pipeline for the business: identify and pursue potential clients and new sales opportunities and capitalise on these opportunities
- foster a collaborative environment: develop, build and maintain collaborative relationships with our internal sales teams to facilitate efficient and effective management of specification
- undertake reporting and data analysis: work closely with the sales team to prepare accurate and competitive project quotes via Salesforce
- engage with industry participants: plan and execute regular meetings with key industry stakeholders such as engineers, architects and builders, present to and educate key industry stakeholders regarding our product solutions
- provide input into product innovation: provide technical engineering advice regarding suitable product solutions for specific projects, review upcoming projects to determine where BlueScope product solutions can be specified
More About You
Along with your ability to understand and uncover business opportunities, you will bring:
- an engineering or bachelor’s degree in industrial design will be an advantage
- an interest in broadening your professional network
- well-developed communication, presentation and influencing skills
- enthusiasm for sharing your knowledge and teaching others about the benefits of different engineered product solutions
- confidence in presenting information to clients (internal or external) in a professional manner
- an ability to work autonomously as well collaboratively with cross-functional teams
