To provide high level general office administration to support the Venue Leader Craigieburn.

What you’ll be doing:

• To provide high level of customer service to members of the public and internal customers in a timely, professional, and effective manner in accordance with agreed performance standards and service expectations.
• To contribute to the provision of high-quality functions, conferences, learning, cultural and education activities at various venues and facilities across the Hume municipality.
• Manage appropriate systems to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day administration including general correspondence, purchasing, document management, collation of data and reports.
• Create, monitor and/or maintain accounts for various contractors and suppliers as per operational requirements.
• Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the Hume Global Learning Centre (HGLC) as per the Venue Operations Manual.
• Ensure the HGLC and the community facilities within the Craigieburn catchment are maintained and well presented to a high standard and any maintenance or cleaning issues are dealt with promptly through liaison with the Council’s Building Maintenance Team.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Proficiency in the application of standardised community facility work procedures and practices including set up and pack down of furniture and operation of facility equipment.
• Knowledge and/or proficiency in the use of booking and administration systems within a community setting.
• Proficiency in the application of standard office administration and clerical procedures and practices.
• Commitment to quality customer service provision and the ability to follow through all enquiries effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to work as a member of a team committed to providing efficient and quality customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to gain cooperation and assistance from customers and colleagues, with a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and proficiency in keyboard usage along with accomplished grammar and spelling.

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

• A nationally recognised Certificate in a related discipline (Administration or Customer Service) or relevant experience.

The Accounts Officer is responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Reconciliation processes. This pivotal role encompasses ensuring prompt and precise payments to vendors, alongside managing the accounts receivable system to ensure timely debtor collections. Moreover, the Officer plays a vital role in conducting routine accounts reconciliations to uphold financial accuracy and prevent any financial losses.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

• End-to-end processes for accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliation.
• Ensure accurate processing and recording of transactions and cash movements.
• Handle tasks such as matching Purchase Orders, invoice allocations and coding.
• Reconcile creditor and debtor statements, resolving any invoice discrepancies.
• Perform bank and accounts reconciliations.
• Manage vendors and customer files, including handling credit applications and debt collections.
• Assist month-end closing procedures.
• Support audit activities as needed.
• Assist payments and receivables for cash flow management.
• Contribute to driving continuous improvement within the organization.
• Assist with other tasks as required.

As an Accounts Receivable Officer, you will directly report to the Financial Controller and ensure hotel Accounts Receivable operates efficiently and effectively through timely billing of receivables, control and collection of receivables debt. 

What you will be doing:

• Ensure invoices are sent within 24hrs of checkout as per hotel policy
• Reconcile gaming machine revenue, jackpot payouts and maintaining statutory compliance
• Prepare accurate tax invoices and statements for airline crews
• Undertake certain income audit duties as requested across our diverse revenue streams 
• Support other roles of the finance department
• Follow processes to limit or eliminate bad debt
• Ensure accurate weekly/monthly accounts are issued per specific agreed contracted business dates
• Overseeing  accuracy of the Deposit Ledger
• Ensure PX and PM accounts are checked on a daily basis and transferred to the city ledger
• Watch for forced credit or credit risk situations and take steps to ensure correct procedures are followed to limit risk to the hotel
• Maintain orderly files and records of all processes and correspondence
• Assist with revenue and audits ensuring all tasks meet Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain and retain integrity of Accounts Receivable data ensuring adherence to company credit procedures.

• Contract for 2 years, Part-time 22.8 hours per week
• $95,195 per annum (pro rata) plus Superannuation

Hume City Council coordinates 15 Community Hubs that are part of the Community Hubs Australia National Network. Playgroups are at the core of the Community hubs and the most important pillar as first point of contact for families and children and a soft entry to the educational system.

All Hume playgroups are supported playgroups, where mothers and carers learn the importance of playing and interacting with their children, where children learn to socialise with each other and to model adults, while developing their social and motor skills. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Building capacity and skills of Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroup Facilitators regarding early childhood development and the delivery of high-quality supported playgroups. This may include topics on (but not limited to): identifying need for early intervention support, playgroup planning, set up and structure, engaging parents to support their child’s early learning and development, and referrals and link to relevant services for additional support.
• Supporting Playgroup Facilitators to use inclusive principles, practice, strategies and resources that promotes accessibility to priority groups (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGTBQI+, Dads, people with a disability, migrant and refugee families).
• Providing Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroup Facilitators with guidance, strategies and resources to deliver high quality supported playgroups.
• Providing 1:1 support and coaching for Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroup Facilitators.
• Establishing and maintain a Community of Practice between Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroups and Hume City Council Playgroups.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Tertiary qualifications and experience in community development, social science and early childhood services or related field, including strong knowledge of child development and learning.
• Ability to develop cooperative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including playgroup facilitators, schools, hub leaders, families and service providers.
• Demonstrated ability to implement suitable play experiences in line with family expectations and children’s developmental needs.
• Relevant experience in training, coaching and mentoring professionals to develop skills and abilities which get the best outcomes for families and children.
• Demonstrated experience in working with diverse communities and vulnerable families including multicultural families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGTBQI+, Dads, people with a disability, migrant and refugee families.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and computer skills for data entry.
• Demonstrated high level of organisational skills, including experience in prioritising and managing own workload with limited supervision.
• Current driver’s licence, Working with Children Check and Police check.

The role of the Hubs Playgroups Project Officer is suitable for a highly skilled professional who is strongly independent, creative and able to meet demanding reporting requirements, including data entry.
