Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced financial leader to oversee our end-to-end financial operations. This role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational management, requiring high-level vision and detailed execution capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Drive financial operations strategy and digital transformation initiatives
• Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures
• Lead cost control measures and working capital optimization
• Oversee daily financial operations, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Monitor cash flow and maintain general ledger integrity
• Lead preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Develop insightful financial commentary and presentations
• Lead annual financial statement preparation and audit process

• Experience in currency exchange or cryptocurrency exchange is required
• CPA or CA qualification is a plus
• 6+ years of experience in financial operations and team management
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proven track record in process improvement and systems optimization

The Corporate Finance Manager is a newly created technical accounting position and will be responsible for all aspects of the management, statutory and external financing reporting under Australian Accounting Standards (AASB / IFRS). 

Key Responsibilities include the following: 

Leadership and Team Management:

• Reporting into Head of Finance, you will lead the APAC finance team to meet operational requirements and promote professional development
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, operations, IT, and other functional areas, to support business objectives.
• Provide financial expertise and guidance to support decision-making and problem-solving across the organization.
• Build strong relationships with external partners, such as vendors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with AASB or other applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
• Review financial reports and variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

Compliance and Controls:

• Coordinate external audits and address audit findings promptly.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Implement and maintain efficient and effective processes to optimize productivity and minimize errors.

Accounts Receivable Operations:

• Oversee customer invoicing and partner with customer facing teams to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate and efficient invoicing and collection processes.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and collections activities to ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Review credit terms and customer payment histories to maximize cash flow.

Accounts Payable Operations:

• Oversee the review and approval of vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with contracts and internal approval processes.
• Monitor accounts payable aging reports and payment schedules to optimize cash flow and minimize late payment penalties.
• Implement vendor management best practices to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maximize vendor satisfaction.
• Review significant contracts to establish proper accounting treatment in accordance with Accounting Standards.
• Review and approve all weekly payments.

Cash Management:

• Prepare monthly cash flows, including providing forecasting suggestions on expected collections.
• Monitor bank account balances, execute cash management activities and aid the Head of Finance in managing banking relationships.
• Management of all financial and tax compliance including monthly, quarterly, and annual tax lodgements such as income tax, GST, PAYG, FBT, and payroll tax, as well as annual statutory financial accounts preparation and filings 

Provide supervision, support and ongoing training to ambassadors to ensure standards and procedures are observed to provide a consistent, high level of service for all guest contact. Demonstrate ‘ownership’ of the outlet through commitment to the following areas of responsibility.

• Focus on exceeding guest expectations at every opportunity and providing and leading a Cousu Main experience for guests
• Provide food and beverage service to guests, maximising every opportunity to increase sales per person.
• Liaise with Conferencing and Reservations for specialised catering as required.
• Liaise with Restaurant Reservations as to upcoming bookings / time frames and maximum number of people at one period.
• Input into development of the outlet.
• Cost control / guest awareness.
• Work with ambassador to minimise wastage and breakages.
• Work cohesively as a team member.

AFCA are currently recruiting for a Senior Manager - Finance Business Partnering 12-month maternity leave cover, as a key support to the Head of Finance through leading and overseeing the organisational budget and forecast process, monthly AFCA wide results commentary and analysis, preparation and analysis of the annual pricing review to be approved by the board and annual calculation the AFCA user charge distribution amongst members (financial firms).

The role also provides key support to the business and wider Finance team through leading and coaching the team of finance business partners and analysts in providing effective reporting and analysis to enable better decision making, maximise performance and manage cost.  This role has 5 direct reports and works close with the Financial Accounting team, senior leadership group, corporate service leadership group, operational and cross functional teams, service providers, external auditors and the members (financial firms).
