Field Service Engineer - Separation

Who You Are 

You have Trade relevant Mechanical engineering qualifications – Fitter, Fitter machinist, mechanical engineer, with proven, hands-on, post qualification experience, assembling and disassembling mechanical (separation) machinery and components.

You are an individual that has excellent organizational skills to record service tasks in a clear concise service report and submit all job-related paperwork and expenditure in a timely manner.

You are a great communicator, able to discuss issues and advise solutions to our customers equipment and processes.

You must be confident & self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or remotely supported, able to follow direction and instructions with ease.

You have a good level of physical fitness, and you must have the digital mindset and skills to work with the business tools and help drive our company’s digitalization journey.

About the Job 

Your duties will include:

• Servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Decanter centrifuge & High-speed separators.
• Be able to read & interpret engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams & P&ID drawings.
• Compiling of technical service reports.
• Work to high level of H&S – Compiling & working to JSEA’s. SWMS, permit to work, Take 5 etc
• Being part of a pioneering team developing new applications via trials.
• The satisfaction of keeping equipment running reliably with happy customers.
• The diversity of working on customers site, equipment and application types compared to being rigidly located on one site.
• A combination of regional, interstate, and local metro work.
• Support in our Perth workshop when required.
   

What you Know  

• Mechanical fundamentals
• Experience with High-speed separators and Decanter centrifuge machines.
• Experience in Marine, Brewing, Wastewater, Mining, Rendering, Oil & Gas applications
• PLC Control systems experience would be highly advantageous – Siemens, Allen & Bradly, 2 Touch, Plus, Basic, DCC, EPC 50/60.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience would be highly advantageous (but not essential)
• Australian connect/disconnect license
• You will require a full driving license.
• Have strong English language and writing skills.
• Have strong digital skills – Word, Excel, Lotus Notes.
• Hold an Industry white card
• Hold a forklift license (preferable, not essential)
• Hold a Dogger or rigger ticket (preferable, not essential)
• Hold a confined space ticket (preferable, not essential)
• Additional experience with Compabloc (welded heat exchanger) , offshore working, Welded & Semi-welded Plate heat exchangers and CIP procedure would be advantageous.
• Reading Plate heat exchanger plate specification drawings to ensure correct assembly would be advantageous
• Must hold Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship

As a result of a significant project pipeline, our Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Team based in our Perth Resources and Industry Group (R&I) has an opportunity for an Experienced Professional to support our growth. 

What will a day in this role look like:

• Provide high-quality design services across lighting, HV, LV, instrumentation, controls and communications
• Assist with quality assurance to ensure work meets quality standards and quality specifications.
• Work with various stakeholders including other members of the internal design team, engineers and project managers to assist with the design, documentation and coordination on projects.
• Mentor younger engineers within the broader AECOM business whilst liaising with Engineers across various disciplines on a variety of projects. 
• Engage with client stakeholders and develop strong relationships

About the Role (your why)

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our high-performance Professional Services team.

This is a customer facing consulting position that requires exceptional collaborative skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with our customers and within Datacom.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous Professional Services experience with external customers and exposure to all aspects of delivering projects, including consulting, design, configuration, testing and deployment.

What you’ll do

At the moment, as the Senior Systems Engineer you will be focused on:

·          In this key cross-disciplinary role you will work closely with our Customers, Partners, Sales and Technical teams.

·          Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget, to agreed scope.

·          Serve as the technical point of contact for implementation services and solutions. This may either be provided remotely or on-site.

·          Providing pre-sales support and expertise to the sales team.

We are a pretty agile company, and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders’ changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs.

What you’ll bring

To be successful in this role you must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with external enterprise customers in delivering projects in professional services environments.

Must have experience with design, implementation and optimization of:

·          Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange.

·          Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, AHV).

·          Have experience in one or both of the following: Backup (Commvault, Veeam) OR Storage (HPE, NetApp, Lenovo & Dell)

·          Automation and Scripting (PowerShell, Python)

You will have a curiosity & passion for customers and a proven ability to communicate solutions in a way that resonates with all levels of our customer’s. You must be comfortable in engaging both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.

·          You can work both independently on competing priorities and as part of a team.

·          You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Join our expanding Energy and Industrial team, utilising your experience as a Functional Safety Engineer as you collaborate with our wider teams. Supporting our busy team, currently undertaking studies on major projects within the WA market, across Iron Ore and Brownfields projects.

Aurecon has been a key player in delivering many of Australia's brownfields electrical and control systems projects for over a decade. We have been successful in securing a solid pipeline of detailed design, owners engineer and technical advisor roles for key client projects extending beyond the next 12 months.

We are expanding the team and are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our busy team currently undertaking major projects within Western Australia in the following areas, materials handling, machine safety, hazardous areas. Experience within manufacturing and processing plants is valued, however not essential.

Your experience and knowledge will be well regarded, and you will play a crucial role in the continued growth of our energy and industrials business.

What will you do?

• The full Functional Safety lifecycle documentation as per AS 4024/ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61511 standards, including:

  • Functional Safety Management Plans

  • HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA workshop facilitation and report writing

  • Performance Level Determination,

  • Safety Requirements Specifications,

  • Safety related system design and realisation,

  • Testing and Validation of Safety Instrumented Systems,

  • Verification and Functional Safety Assessments,

  • Operation and Maintenance planning,

  • Decommissioning

• Cyber Security Risk Assessment

• Mentoring junior functional safety engineers

• Involvement in the full lifecycle of projects from inception through to execution

What can you bring to the team?

• A degree qualified engineer in an appropriate discipline (Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical etc) with minimum 8 years of functional safety-related experience preferably (5 years if fulltime) including projects in the Pilbara region and/or Northern Western Australia.

• Certified as a functional safety engineer or expert by a recognised body (Exida, TUV Rheinland etc).

• Demonstrable skills and proficiency in the use of functional safety software packages such as PHA Pro or exSILentia is preferred but not essential.

• A background in Control Systems and a desire to support and/or develop in other capability is highly desirable.
