About the Role MinRes is a globally significant lithium producer with world-class assets. These include two of the world's largest hard-rock lithium mines, Mt Marion and Wodgina, as well as the recently acquired Bald Hill operation. We also have strategic partnerships with international leaders in the production and supply of lithium battery products. Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent, and working on an 8:6 roster, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimising automated systems and process controls to enable safe, efficient, and sustainable operations at our Wodgina mine in Western Australia. Your primary responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing advanced control strategies, including designing tailored control systems and automation processes, to enhance efficiency and productivity. Performing regular maintenance and upgrades on control systems and machinery, ensuring optimal performance by troubleshooting and resolving issues. Analysing process data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Continuously seeking out and implementing new technologies and methodologies to improve process control and operational efficiency. Ensuring all control systems and processes comply with industry regulations and safety standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Maintenance, to ensure the seamless integration and operation of control systems. What You’ll Bring to the Team You will have strong automation and control systems expertise in the mining sector, as well as the skill and confidence to work independently. Other key skills, experience, and qualifications: A tertiary degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and advanced process control. Well-versed in tuning PID loops. Networking exposure. Breakdown expertise.
